Unit2 Ill help clean up the city parks. 【教材依据】 本单元是人教版初中英语新教材八年级下册第二单元,本单元的核心话题为“volunteering”,通过本单元的学习,使学生能向别人提供帮助,争做一名志愿者。 【设计思路】本单元的中心话题是提供帮助,围绕着主动提供帮助以及志愿活动展开生动、活泼的对话和阅读,以观察图片、听力理解、阅读理解等训练方式和独立学习、合作交流、完成任务等形式完成目标语言的输入,学习 “I will ”,“I would like”等句型和一些重要动词短语为主要学习内容,并且设置任务型综合性语言实践活动,让学生在交际活动中,学会如何正确地用英语表达自己的意见和建议,重在培养学生的习得语言运用能力、实践能力、合作能力及创新意识。由于本单元的这些志愿活动与我们的生活密切相关,通过本课的学习,还要求学生能够谈论自己帮助别人的方式,学会关心社会,关爱他人。引导学生体会志愿活动,投身于社会公益事业。根据新目标对学生交际能力的培养,我将本课设计为一堂听说课。但对于八年级的学生可能已经不像七年级学生那样热衷于普通的课堂活动,所以设计怎样的课堂活动,采取怎样的评价方式来提高课堂气氛,从而使学生自然地融入整个教学环节显得尤为重要。【设计重点和难点】 根据教材的内容和学生的实际情况,我们可以围绕“我爱矿区,我要成为矿区志愿者的一员,尽自己的能力去帮助身边需要帮助的人”这一在中心思想来开展一系列教学活动。在培养学生听、说、读、写能力的基础上,培养学生爱家乡,爱矿区,形成健康的人生观,为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。 本课时主要运用动词词组围绕“volunteer”展开话题,怎样在规定的时间内通过什么样的活动来激发学生的学习热情,让学生自然地学会运用如此多的动词词组,并成为课堂教学的主角是这一课时的难点。【教学目标】 1 .Knowledge objects(1) Key vocabularyclean up, hunger, cheer up, give out, volunteer, homeless, come up with, put off, hand out, call up, sign, lonely, used to(2) Target languageId like to work outside. You could give out food at a food bank. You should care for them.2. Ability objects(1)Train the students to express offering to help with the target language.(2) Train the students listening skill.3. Moral object: offer help to the others as much as possible.【重点难点】 教学重点: 1, 能熟练掌握本课时的词汇及句型。 2, 学会提供帮助的基本句型。教学难点: 1. 掌握I will, I would like等句型 2. 听力训练 【教学过程】 I. Revision1. 检查生词预习 1) 正音:学生齐读单词,有突出问题的单词由老师正音,然后重点强调,齐读。 2) 听写:hunger, homeless, clean-up, sign, advertisement, set, establish. 让学生以小组为单位互相批改,小组长报告检查情况。表扬优异者,对于出错的单词,教师结合单词结构、读音规则帮助学生识记生词。 2. Free talkShow several pictures of people who need help,such as ,sick people, homeless children, dirty park, hunger ,etc.T: What can you see in the picture? S: There are some people who need help. T: Can you tell me something about the pictures? S: The children are very poor, they dont have money to go to school. S: The people are sick, they look very sad.S:The park is very dirty, we need to help clean it up.etc (通过图片让学生充分展开想象力,针对每一幅图片进行描述,激起学生的同情心和对以下内容的兴趣。) II. 感知体验 1. 感知: Presentation and practice: T: These people need our help. Do you want to be a volunteer to help the people who need your help?S: Yes, we do.T: What can you do to help the people who need your help? For example: What can you do to help sick people? S: I could visit them in the hospital. S: Id like to buy them some flowers. I hope to cheer them up. S: I could teach them math, etc. (让学生给出不同的回答,强调Id like to, could 和其他动词的搭配。老师不断强化句型, 让学生有个模式进行下面的训练。) 另外再展示一些图片让学生结对练习对话,操练句型: A: What would you like to do if the classroom is very dirty? B: Id like to C: I could (通过反复操练,巩固句型,体会以上的结构,为后面的讨论作铺垫。) 2. 体验: 教学操练 (practice) 1a,.让学生根据图片内容做对话,引出volunteer, work outside, cheer up, help sb with sth, give out, clean up, in the hospital, 并用刚刚学到的目标句型来操练。 最后,抽查几对学生,让他们在全班面前,按照要求进行对话。III. 强化巩固 1. 1a & 1b 1) Go through the instructions with the class. Then ask students to work in groups to list other ways of helping others.Answer: help clean up the park, help young kids to learn English, etc.2)ListeningT: Now lets listen to a material in which some people describe what they want to do as volunteers. The first time, you should listen carefully to get the main idea of it. When you listen again, please complete the sentences in 1b on Page 9. 1) Play the tape for the first time. This time, students only listen. 2) Play the tape a second time. Ask them to listen to the recording and check their answers to Activity 1b. 3) Check the answers with the class. Invite a student to read the answers. (Key:3,2,4,1)2.Pair work(1c)1) Read the instructions to the whole class. 2) Point out the example in the box. Ask two students to read it to the class. 3) As students work together, move around the classroom checking their work.4) Ask a few pairs of students to present their conversations to the class.3. 2a &2b 1) T: Lets listen to another material in which some students are talking about ways to tell people about A City Parks Clean-Up Day. Before listening, please look at the pictures in 2a on Page 10.Ask some students what they see, explain any of the pictures that they dont understand.Listen to the tape and tick the things the students are going to do. One minute later, play the tape and then check the answers. (key:b,c,e)T: Now listen again and complete the sentences in 2b. Play the tape again and then check the answers.(key:1,come up with 2,put off 3,put up 4,hand out 5,call up)2) Pair workT: In the listening, we have learned about some ways to tell people about the Clean-Up Day. Read the model dialogue in 2c and then work in pairs to try to make your own dialogues using the information in 2a and 2b. Get the students to make conversations then role play it. Sample dialogue 1: S1: We need to hand out advertisements after school. S2: Lets have supper first. S1: No, we cant put off handing out the advertisements. Clean-Up Day is only two weeks from now. Sample dialogue 2: S1: We need to put up the signs. S2: Lets drink some water first, Im thirsty. S1: No, we cant put off putting up the signs. Clean-Up Day is five days from now. IV. Language usage 1. Speaking A: This weekend Ill have a birthday party at my home, I have so many things to do, can you help me? B: OK, I could C: Id like to 让学生以小组为单位讨论后,找个别学生口头陈述. 2. Writing 将speaking 中的口头陈述形成书面文章. 若时间允许, 教师可让一名学生到黑板上书写,并 给予批改评价. 其余学生在练习本上完成.若时间紧张,可将此步布置为课下作业. V. 总结反馈 T: In this class, weve mainly talked about offering help. After class, try to make more dialo
