My Review Of BY xieweiCharlotte Bront was an English novelist, the author of, the eldest of the three Bront sisters whose novels have become enduring classics of English literature. are rejected by many publishing houses, was published posthumously in 1857. Her novels were deemed coarse by the critics. But now, Charlotte Bront is one of the most popular writers in the world and her article inspire millions of people since it had published. In the book ,Jane Eyre is a young opphan being raise by Mrs.Reed ,her cruel ,wealtyaunt .One day ,as punishment for fighting with her bullying cousin John Reed, Janes aunt follow Mr. lloyds advice and send Jane to the Lowood School .She spends eight more years at Lowood ,six as a student and two as a teacher .After teaching for two years ,Jane accepts a governess position at a manor called Thornfied and find herself falling secrectly in love .When she and Mr.Rochester decided to marry, she found that her lover Mr.Rochester had married. Knowing that it is impossible for her to be with Rochester, Jane flees Thornfield .But one night ,she hears Rochesters voice calling her name over the moors .Jane immediately hurries back to Thornfield and finds that it has been burned to the ground by Bertha Mason ,who lost her life in the fire .Rochester saved the servants but lost his eyesight and one of his hands .Rochester and Jane rebuild their relationship and soon marry .And Jane and Rochester enjoy perfect equality in their life together.Autobiographical elements are recognizable throughout Jane Eyre .The author build Jane Eyre this character to express her opinion about love versus autonomy and the elements of her own life .Much evidence suggests that Bronte ,too ,struggled to find a balance between love and freedom and to find others who understood her .At many points in the book ,Jane voices the authors then-radical opinions on religion ,social class ,and gender .Jane and the author herself speaks out against class prejudice at certain moments in the book .For example ,in chapter 23 she chastises Rochester:”Do you think ,because I am poor ,obscure ,plain ,and little ,I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!I have as much soul as you-and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth ,I should have you .” Janes manners ,sophistication ,and education are those of an aristocrat .But as paid employees ,they were more or less treated as servants ;Thus, Jane remains penniless and powerless while at Thornfield .Janes understanding of the double standard crystallizes when she becomes aware of her feelings for Rochester ;Because she senses that she would feel indebted to him for “condescending” to marry her. Janes distress , which appears most strongly in the article ,seems to be Brontes critique of Victorian class attitudes. Everytime I read the passage below, I cannot help being moved by the firm Jane. “I care for myself .The more solitary , the more friendless ,the more unsustained I am ,the more I will respect myself .I will keep the law given by God; sanctioned by man .I will hold to the principles received by me when I was sane ,and not madas I am now .Laws and principles are not for the times when there is no temptation”In this quotation ,near the end of Chapter 27,Jane asserts her strong sense of moral integrity over and against her intense immediate feelings .To Jane ,Rochester is the first person who has ever truly loved her .But she knows that staying with him would mean compromising herself ,because she would be Rochesters mistress rather than his wife .Not only would she lose her self-respect ,she would probably lose Rochesters ,too ,in the end . Though Janes words , we can find that women had aware to struggle for their equal rights .And they eager to gain the respect from the society.Jane is an intelligent , honest , plain-featured young girl forced to contend with oppression and hardship. Although she meets with a series of individuals who threaten her autonomy ,Jane repeatedly succeeds at asserting herself and maintains her principles of justice ,human dignity ,and morality .She also value intellectual and emotional fulfillment .Though a persons beauty on the face can make others once feel that one is attractive and charming, if his or her mind isnt the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannot last for, when others find that the beauty which had charmed them was only a falsity, its not true, they will like the person no more. For a long time, only a persons great virtue, a noble soul, a beautiful heart can
