Questions for a teacher job interview:1. Why are you interested in this position? Center college is famous for its personalized education that enables Centre students to achieve extraordinary success in advanced study and their careersI love the more personal teaching and learning environment in liberal arts colleges. I. The intimacy of small classes allows me to take a more active role in the education of every individual student. The great teacher-student interaction gives me an opportunity to teach broadly across various fields. The perfect balance between research and teaching will also benefit my research as well as finding interesting and relevant topics. 2. How will/could you involve students in your research?My research interests focus on second language acquisition. Particularly, my studies explore the cultural challenges and difficulties that foreigners encounter in their Chinese learning experience. All of students of learning Chinese as their second language can take part in my research and share the cultural barriers and language learning difficulties in the process of learning a second language. They either could be the co-researcher or the participants of the research. 3. What courses could you teach here? I have a rich experience in teaching Chinese language and Chinese culture, Chinese literature. I believe I can teach all the topics that relates to china.4. What sorts of research projects/topics could you pursue here? 5. How would you describe your interactions with students? /In my teaching, I understand that students come to the class with personal learning motivations and various learning capabilities. I see myself as a facilitator, supporting each student for their individual academic pursuit. With my years of teaching experiences, I believe that developing a good rapport with my students is crucial to achieve the education goals. As a mentor, I am also very open-minded to students creative qualities and encourage them to realize their fullest potentials. I love to create a constructive7. What is your teaching philosophy?Through my seven years of language teaching, with students at various levels, and my experiences as students in various institutions, I have learned that developing a good rapport with students, meeting the various needs of students, and maintaining a constructive classroom atmosphere are crucial to the achievement of teaching goals. . I make a great effort to know my students. Since language classes are small enough, I learn their goals of language learning, their majors and interests, and their schedules. I make myself available outside the classroom by encouraging students to come to office hours, I schedule one-on-one appointments whenever necessary in addition to office hours if students have conflicting schedules, and I use email extensively to communicate with my students. I have great respect for the individuality of each student. I have a willingness to listen and answer any question. The students always sit in a circle rather than in a row behind each others backs. They often work in groups or with a partner in order to focus on communicative rather than a teacher-centered approach, thereby making room for individual expression. I love teaching. And I believe that students bring so much energy into their education and into my life. Teaching offers me an opportunity to constantly improve my knowledge through the interaction with my students. I often think that I get more from them than they get from me even though I know they do gain enormously. 8. What questions do you have for us?According to my understanding that our college prepare to start the East Asian Department. I am very interested in it. I would like to know about the proposal.Are you interested in further developing study abroad program ? This position could be renewed upto three years. I was wondering if after three years, with the buiding of the east asian program, is there any chance that the position will lead to a permanent position at center college?(You should prepare several questions in advance.
