WD-400W Track Dynamic Stabilizer- Training MaterialForewordIn this book, various components that constitute WD-400W track dynamic stabilizer are introduced, including the knowledge about the structure of the power transmission system, working device, machine body structure, electrical system, hydraulic system and pneumatic system, and brake system etc. This book gives a preferable role of guide for trainees in mastering of the functions, working principle, machine structure, and composition and principles of the systems of WD-400W track dynamic stabilizer.Chapter 1 GeneralAfter ballast cleaning from bottom of ballast bed and tamping of a railway track, the track bed is not compacted enough and the lateral resistance and stability of the track is still poor. In this case, traffic safety of train cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, the related specification requires that the train should run at limited speed, which inevitably results in loss of railway transport capacity and gives the busy railway transport a greater burden. In order to shorten or avoid slow-running duration caused by construction and make the track stabilized as soon as possible after construction, so as to ensure safe railway traffic at the specified speed, it is necessary to employ track dynamic stabilizer for track maintenance. This is of great significance for increasingly busy, high speed, and heavy haul railway trunk lines with a large transport capacity.WD-400W track dynamic stabilizer is a self-propelled track maintenance machine that is of an advanced structure and integrates the mechanical system, electrical system, hydraulic system and pneumatic system. In addition, advanced technologies such as electro-hydraulic control, automatic detection, and microcomputer control, etc. are applied to the stabilizer. Therefore, it can realize compaction of track bed and is characterized by complex structure, simple operation, excellent performance, and high efficiency. The outline of the track dynamic stabilizer is shown in Fig. 1.1.Under the condition of closed track, the track dynamic stabilizer compacts loose track bed by simulating the integrated effect of pressure and vibration on the track caused by train operation so as to quickly improve the lateral resistance of the track and overall stability of the track bed and thus reduce the restrictions for train running at limited speed after track maintenance. During the operation, the track dynamic stabilizer works in a continuous running mode. It rearranges and compacts the ballast and makes the track settle down evenly in a controlled manner through the strong horizontal vibration generated by its stabilizing device and the vertical pressure applied to the rail.Geometrical shape and position parameters of the track before and after the operation can be measured and recorded by the measuring system equipped in the machine. In addition, it can be operated according to the set geometrical shape and position parameters of the track through the computer control system.After one time of operation of the track dynamic stabilizer, the lateral resistance of the track can be recovered to more than 80% of the lateral resistance before the operation, so the track quality after tamping is effectively improved. This provides necessary conditions for safe running of trains.Chapter 3 Structure of WD-400W Track Dynamic stabilizerThe structure of WD-400W track dynamic stabilizer is shown in Fig. 3.1.It is mainly composed of the bogies, coupler and draft gear, front cab, rear cal, machine body structure, stabilizing device, measuring system, hydraulic system, electrical system, pneumatic system, power transmission system, and brake system, etc.Before operation, lower each measuring trolley of the measuring system onto the rail and apply vertical load to the measuring rod of each measuring trolley and intermediate measuring trolley. Tightly prop running wheels on the same side of the three measuring trolleys of the single chord measuring system against the inner side of the reference rail and tension the single chord and double chords. Then, lower the stabilizing device onto the rail and integrate the stabilizing device and track skeleton. By now, the track dynamic stabilizer is under operation status.During the whole operation, one hydraulic motor will be used to drive two vibration exciters in two sets of stabilizing device at the same time to make the track skeleton and vibration exciters in strong simultaneous horizontal vibration. Upon the horizontal vibration is transferred to the track bed, the ballast will be rearranged and compacted. At the same time, the vertical oil tank of the stabilizing device automatically applies necessary downward pressure to rails on both sides of the track to make the track settle down evenly in a controlled manner and then reach the given settlement.The track settlement will be reached in an automatic manner during the operation when the track dynamic stabilizer continuously moves. There is a height sensor on the measuring rod on each side of the intermediate measuring trolley, which is connected with each steel chord of the double chord measuring system and used to monitor the height from each chord to the rail top all the time. The computer will transform the difference between measured height and given track set
