英语教学设计高中英语必修2 Unit 2 The Olympic Games .Theoretical framework According to the National English Curriculum Standards for general High School(2017), the English class should aim for improving students learning ability, and respecting individual differences; developing core competence of English subject and advocating the process and experience of language learning. Hence, in my instruction design, there are many activities set for students to talk about the history of the Olympics and guide students to do comprehensive training of reading, listening, speaking and writing. . This book contains 5 units. The main topic of the unit is “ The Olympic Games”. This unit “ The Olympic Games” divided into 5 classes. Every class for one class(45mins). The topic of this class is comprehending and talking about the history of the Olympic Games and using objective words to describe the Olympic Games. . Analysis of the studentsA.The students of senior 1 have learned English for several years, they can communicate using some complex English forms. But not good enough in the abilities of reading, speaking, this class will focus on training these abilities.B.For students of senior 1 are active and curious to recreation and sports, so playing some games and the life closely topic is quite useful to increase the learning interest.C.Students in this age are more tend to think and express their opinions, so present new words and phrases through pictures can do better for students understanding. Teaching ObjectivesA. Knowledge objectives: It is closely related to the unit theme, and the presentation of vocabulary and grammar structure is arranged in the relevant context as much as possible. Whats more, it guides students to do a comprehensive training of reading, listening, speaking and writing.B. Ability objectives: Students will be able to do better in the strategy of reading and speaking. It encourages students to actively speak in the activities of two people and group activities.C. Cultural objectives: It enables students to understand the similarities and differences between the ancient and modern Olympic Games through discussion. And it will further test students knowledge of the Olympic Games. Teaching focus and difficult pointsTeaching focus:(1) new words and phrases in this unit;(2) learn to use the passive voice in the future;(3) familiarize students with the Olympic Games and can ask each other questions about the basic knowledge of the Olympic Games in English, and can briefly describe the basic knowledge of the Olympic Games;(4) encourage students to express their interests and hobbies, and ask them to talk about familiar topics.Difficult points:(1) Instruct students to understand new words in the context, grasp the rules of change of parts of speech, and use them for understanding and expression information and opinions about the subject;(2) Guide the students to extract the main information and viewpoints from the text and understand the meaning of the text. Leading-in & Warming Up (6mins)(1)Greet students as usual (2)Teacher shows students some famous athletes pictures on PPT and let them to tell their name by asking and answering the following questions: -Whos he/she?-He/She is(3) Teacher then show some pictures about the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and 2018 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Ask Ss whether they know some other Stadiums. (4) After the game, teacher guides the class into the new lesson.1.Greet teacher as usual.2.Look at the pictures carefully and answer the teachers question.Stimulate the students interests in the new lesson.Create a situation to guide students to explore from the familiar things.Form reading expectationThinking quality、Cultural consciousnessStep 2. Pre-reading (5mins)1.Get Ss to talk about the questions below, and then ask them to present it individually.1.How many events are there for the Summer and Winter Olympics? Can you list some of them?2.When and where will the next Olympics be held? What do you think the Chinese team will do in order to win more medals?2.Listen and give comment.1.Understand the meanings of the main conversation in the textbook2.Try their best to understand the questions and express their minds.To have Ss learn about some more about Olympics and arouse their interest.Thinking quality 、Learning ability 、 Cultural consciousnessStep 3. While-reading(16mins)Task 1 ListeningPlay the tape and ask Ss to find the writing type and the main idea of the text.Task 2 ReadingLet the students scan the articles.Task3 WritingLet the Ss read the text quickly and find out the similarities & differences between Ancient and Modern Olympics in the paper.Let the Ss finish the Exercise 2 (P11).Walk around and provide help where needed.1)Listen the tapes and write down some notes.2)Scan the articles.3)Read the text quickly and find out the similarities & differences between Ancient and Modern Olympics in the paper.4)Finish the Exercise 2.1. It has cost a lot of money. Do you think it is worthwhile? Why? And think about what we will do and what we can do for the 24th Olympic Winter GamesTask 2: Encourage some students to talk about their opinions and conclude.Give instruction.1) Discus these questions in the groups.2) Make a representation of the results of the discussion.To get Ss to have some details in the text and practise writing.To train Ss language capacity.L
