本篇论文采用归化和异化的策略分析了英语幽默汉译 并认为他们都对理解英 语语言国家的文化有帮助 而且归化和异化对目的语读者理解异国文化行之有 效 英语幽默是一种重要的语言现象 本文也试图对这这种现象作出一个令人 满意的解释 英语幽默翻译长期以来一直受到不同流派翻译学家的关注 幽默反映原作 者的价值墩向 对生活的感受和对社会现象的态度 广义上讲 英语幽默翻译 分为语言层面的幽默翻译和文化层面的幽默翻译 幽默语言生动形象 富含文 化 这也正是英语幽默翻译的难点 然而 语言层面的幽默相对来说比后者容 易理解 因为这类幽默所含的文化信息几乎没有或甚少 由于中西方文化存在 很多差异 文化类英语幽默的翻译的难度似乎更上一层 语言不仅是文化的传 播工具文化 还是跨文化翻译的媒介 文化就是个百科全书包含了整个社会的 层层面面 而这些复杂性又通过语言来表现的 因此语言和文化的障碍给英语 幽默的理解和翻译带来了极大的困难 以往人们大多从外在的因素来处理英语 幽默翻译 而并没有考虑对其语言和文化因素的学习和研究 因此 本文重点 分析文化类的英语幽默 为了再现原文的文化讯息 大多数的译者在翻译英语幽默时使用归化和异 化的策略 1 9 9 5 年 韦努蒂首次将翻译分为两类 一类是以目的语为中心的归 化翻译 另一类是以源语言为中心的异化翻译 该理论在翻译界已被使用多年
