(后接动词不定式完成式,表示对过去存在的某种可能性的推测,或指过去该做而未做的事情,意思是早应该、本应该。否定句,则表示发生了不该发生的事。 ) 例如:im sorry. i ought to have phoned to tell you i was coming. you ought not to have allowed the child to go alone. 5. differ v. 有区别,不同,常与from 和in 连用,“与在.方面不同”。my brother and i are like in appearance, but differ in our tastes. differ with sb about/on sth.和某人对某事的意见不同i differ with you on this matter. *difference n.差别,差异,不同之处tell the difference betweenandin.说出.和在方面的不同。make no/great/ difference没有/有很大 区别/关系/影响*different adj.不同的,相异的。be different from 和不同 6. represent v. 代表,表示,象征,描绘; 声称;宣称mr. smith represents his school at the meeting. 在会上史密斯先生 represent sth.
