unit 1 past and presentreading (i)i. teaching aims and learning objectivesby the end of the lesson, students should be able to:1. skim the article for the main idea of each part;2. scan the article to get specific information;3. retell the changes in sunshine town and the feelings; 4. discuss the changes in our city. ii. teaching contents1. new words and phrases: since, ever, northern, married, wife, block, since, over, pollution, factory, waste, realize, improve, situation, however, impossible, before, lonely, anyway, husband, interview, turn into , in some ways, from time to time, all ones life2. new structures: do you know sunshine town very well, mr chen? ive lived here since i was born. has the town changed a lot over the years? now the government has turned part of the town into a new park. it has become impossible for us to see each other as often as before. now i feel a bit lonely from time to time.iii. focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty1. to use skimming or scanning strategies to get information. 2. to discuss the changes in our own city.iv. teaching proceduresstep 1 lead-inpresent some pictures and get the students to know some new words and phrases.【设计意图:通过图片介绍扬州,引出本课的核心词汇,让学生在情境中感知、学习和运用生词和短语,导入本课话题城市的变化】step 2 pre-reading 1. predictiont: my hometown yangzhou has changed a lot over the years. it has turned into a new modern city. what about sunshine town? look at the title “times have changed”. work in pairs and predict (预测) the changes in sunshine town.2. group workt: if you are a reporter, what questions will you ask about the changes in sunshine town?【设计意图:引导学生根据标题预测阳光镇的变化,同时设置语境,让学生融入课文角色,从记者的角度思考城市变化,引导学生关注对话文本特征。】step 3 while-reading1. skimming(1) read and answer: how many questions does the interviewer ask? what are they?(2) read the interview quickly and divide it into 4 parts. let the students say the main idea of each part.【设计意图:通过运用略读的阅读策略,引导学生了解文章的主题,同时让学生找出采访的五个问题,了解采访型文章的结构形式,让学生划分段落并归纳段落大意,增强学生的整体篇章意识。】2. scanning(1) read lines 7-11 and compare what they had in the past and what they have today.(2) read lines 12-16 and try to fill in the blanks.(3) read lines 17-23 and retell mr chens feeling to the changes in sunshine town.【设计意图:通过运用寻读的阅读策略,指导学生获取具体信息,培养学生的扫读能力,复述第四部分,加深对本部分的理解。】3. listening and reading(1) read after the tape loudly. (2) read in roles.(3) finish task-based reading.【设计意图:跟录音朗读,模仿语音语调;分角色朗读,激发学生兴趣。帮助学生全面理解篇章,理解作者的意图,观点和态度。完成任务型阅读,检测学生对文章内容的掌握情况。】step 4 post-reading1. have an interviewt: work in pairs and discuss the changes in our hometown. one is a reporter from the tv station, and the other is a local people. make up a new dialogue according to the chart. try to ask at least five questions about the topic.2. group discussion(1) do you think life in our hometown is better now?(2) give more advice on how to improve our city. 【设计意图:创设真实情境,让学生谈论家乡的变化,有效地训练采访文体的有用表达式,同时让学生给出进一步改善环境的建议,进行情感教育。】v. homework
