Teaching proceduresStep 1: Revision1. Get the students ready for learning. 2. Teacher asks the students to have a competition to review how to make the opening speech. Lets see who can say the most expressions.Step 2: Pre-listening1. Teacher lets students look at the pictures and teach the new words: menu , beer, bill, corn, salad, soft drink2.Teacher shows a bill to the students .Ask a good student to practice the following dialogue with the teacher.T: May I take your order? S: Beijing Roast Duck.T: Which kind of drink would you like ,beer or soft drink ?S: Id like a bottle of beer. T: Would you like some corn salad?S; Oh, yes. T: Thanks for your order.3. Teacher lets students read the conversation of 2a. Let them complete the conversation based on the bill. Step 3: While-listening. 1. Teacher plays the recording of 2a, and lets students listen to the conversation and check the words they have filled in.2. Teacher lets two students give the answers. 3. Teacher plays the recording again and lets students listen and read after it. Ask them to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.4. Let the students read 2a again ,then underline the expressionsabout how to order and offer food and drinks. Step 4: Post-listening1. Teacher asks students to read 2a by themselves, and then fill in the blanks of the passage in 2b. 2. Teacher lets students tell the answers. When they tell the answers, they should give the whole sentence. 3. Find out the phrases like a bottle of beer, then give some more examples.4.Teacher lets students observe the table of 3 to prepare for the listening practice . Then listen and fill in the blanks.
