Since the auto chain has high speed, serious impact, excessive load and the alternate characteristic of velocity and load, the timing chain must burden exceed more power and velocity and need more capacity compare with common industrial chain. The working point and performance index have transcended the conventional chain transmission condition. Now the automobile industry of our country is developing rapidly. But we should do some self-reflection as a result of we dont know the technical of auto engine chain design method. Not only the integrity design and manufacture technical of independent property right about whole auto have not formed but also the key technicals of the parts on auto are mastered by foreign companies mostly. At present, the technology of chain transmission design on engine have not been mastered and many domestic engine enterprises depend on foreign design and most of the timing chains depend on import. Now the methods of design automobile timing chain havent been mastered. Many engine company automobile timing chains depend on other abroad company. Now many automobile timing chain products depend on import. It is important to study the design method of the transmission system of timing chain and the mechanism of invalidation and own the key technology with independent property right. These study result and analysis more enrichment the chain transmission and provide theory for the automobile timing chain design method at the same time.2 The design method of timing chain system of auto engineWe analyzed the service condition and main format of invalidation of the auto chain and explain the method of selection and calculation of auto chain and educe the expression of the length in vertical direction and the length of auto chain. We have studied the design method of vibration damper strips and guide line of tensioner equipment and the curvature of the chain tensioner board and guide board. The transmission experimentation and invalidation analysis on the timing chain of auto engineThe experimentation was used 491Q engine with timing chain transmission made in domestic .And the experiment run 110000 Km and the protract ratio is 0.94% just only the half distance with others countrys car.After experimentation, the reason of timing chain invalidation was analyzed in detail and the emphasize particularly on wear manner among the roller、bushing and pin was also analyzed. Research on the Wear Characteristics of a New Hy-Vo Silent ChainThe wear resistance characteristic of a new Hy-Vo silent chain has been studied based on the calculation and the experiment on the test bench for 300 hours. The result shows that a pair of heterogeneous pins of the new Hy-Vo silent chain alternatively bear the load with rolling friction, which makes the bearing surface pressure of the special-shape pin is lower than the pressure of roller chain pin and silent chain pin, thus the new Hy-Vo silent chain has excellent wear resistance. The wear surface morphologies of the plate and the special-shape pin were analyzed by SEM. The wear mechanism of the pin is fatigue wear and the wear mechanism of the plate is abrasive wear with fatigue wear.The special phenomenon has been found in the bench test of the New Hy-Vo Silent Chain, that is the slack span raised when the sprocket speed up to certain value. This phenomenon did not appear at the bench test of the roller chain and the round-pin Silnet Chains under the same sprocket speed. This special phenomenon relates to the upswept angle and the centrifugal force of the Hy-Vo Silent Chain. The New Hy-Vo Silent Chain can be used at broader field than other type chains.The design calculation on common normal line length of Hy-Vo silent chain sprocketThe common normal line length of Hy-Vo silent chain is the important precision index that can affect the performance of transmission. Through transformation of parameters, the meshing design system among Hy-Vo silent chain, sprocket and hob was built up based on the researching of the pitch increment and the equivalent apothem increment of the effects on the common normal line length when the Hy-Vo silent chain was wrapped around and located on the sprocket, with the proper meshing conditions of Hy-Vo silent chain and sprocket into consideration. The design method of common normal line length was put forward that can be used when the value of the sprocket pressure angle is equal or unequal to the value of the Hy-Vo chain plate pressure angle. Experiments show that this new design method is feasible. In addition, the calculation and amendment of common normal line length and the measuring teeth number was investigated for the sprocket with large negative modification coefficient, stub teeth and large fillet radius.Study on Weibull distribution form parameter of automotive chain fatigue lifetimeIn this paper distribution function of automotive chain fatigue lifetime are discussed and characteristics of Weibull distribution form parameter of fatigue lifetime that vary with its specification and loading are analyzed, then sampling inspection plan of lifetime of reliability is designed. He needed to expand the number of input channels and acquire more accurate data that could be easily presented to internal and external customers in different formats. As a result, he purchased an IOtech WaveBook . Casey is now able to keep pace with the changing demands of advanced product development and testing to rigid performance standards.Frequently, when a new engine is not ready to be fit with an advanced chain cam drive system, Casey instruments a test stand simulator that basically mimics the engines cam drive. The test stand contains sprockets, guides, and tensioners, all located exactly where they would be on that specific engine. An electric motor spins the system through the same speed range it would run in an actual vehicle. Says Casey, “During a long durability test, I use the WaveBook to measure, record, and stream data to a computers hard disk drive. Also, I can look at the data in real time.” Currently, Casey uses 16 analog channels, a WBK16 for 8 strain-gages, a WBK40 for 14 thermocouples, and an Ethernet interface. Besides the channel flexibility, he appreciates the ability to select any acquisition speed he desires. “With the oscilloscopes, we had limited selection of preset acquisition rates. That meant capturing enormous amounts of unnecessary data or not capturing enough data to accurately evaluate a system. I typically run 2.5 times the acquisition speed needed, so w
