unit 5 what are the shirts made ofteaching aims and demands 教学目标我所选的这一课时是该单元section b 部分的reading: beauty in common things. 是一节初三的阅读教学课。language aims语言目标:1. learn the words and phrases on page 38-492. sentence patterns : 1) be made of /by /in 2) be famous for/be known for3) be used for ability aims能力目标:1. review the passive voice learnt in section a.2. master the reading strategy: from general introduction to specific details.3. learn about three different chinese traditional art forms.emotion aims情感目标: learn to love our hometown. be proud of being chinese. hope the students can find the beauty in common things in their daily life.teaching aids教具pictures, red paper, scissors, ppt学情分析:九年级学生已经有了比较好的英语基础,能够对文章进行深层次的理解和思考。学生们在该单元a部分已经学习了被动语态的语法规则,所以对该篇文章语言现象的理解有了一定的铺垫。而该篇阅读的主题“中国传统民间艺术的美”又是之前初中教材中所没有涉及的,因此可以采用情景教学法,通过看图片、视频等来加强直观教学,吸引学生的兴趣。对于文章的语言点和短语可以采用小组活动法让学生们通过讨论去习得并巩固。学生们也很擅长观察和寻找身边美好的事物,因此还可以在阅读前布置学生们借助网络,报纸等发现本地不同的民间艺术品形式,在课上展示图片或文字等,以引激发他们对家乡、祖国的热爱之情。通过该节阅读课,继续培养学生的合作精神和用英语思维的能力,锻炼他们用英语交流的良好习惯。difficult points重点难点:some of the words have two parts of speech, for example, fire, shape, how to master the different speech in different contexts.教学步骤teaching procedurestep 1 lead-in引入1. divide the whole class into 4 groups, if they show their ideas right, they can get one point for their group.2. qingming festival has just passed, what festival will we have next? 引出端午节what will they do? people will eat zongzi, hold dragon boat races, and wear flavour bags on dragon boat festival. 引出香包是民间艺术品it is a folk art form in china. ask what it is made of and what it looks like. 3. watch a short video about different folk art forms, write the words “art forms” on the blackboard.ask a question: what do you see from the video and what do you know about the folk art?step 2 presentation展示1. ask: do you want to learn more about different art forms in china? lets enjoy the reading: beauty in common things.2. fast reading students read quickly to find out: what art forms are mentioned in the reading? what are they made of?3. careful reading:listen to the first paragraph and think about the question: whats the main idea of this paragraph? answer: common things can be turned into folk art pieces, or the first sentence. sum up the reading skill: the first paragraph gives a general introduction of the whole reading, the next several paragraphs give details and example. read the second paragraph, find more information about the sky lantern.answer the questions. l what were sky lanterns used for in the past? l what are they used for now?l what are they regarded as?students work in groups and read paragraphs 3 and 4, find details about paper cutting and clay pieces. fill in the blanks.l paper cutting has a history of about _ years.l the paper can be cut into _, _ and so on.l they are symbols of wishes for _ and a _.l clay pieces are in the shape of children or _ from a chinese _ or _.l steps of making them. _ air-dried _ _step 3 finding and discussing自学探究1. explain the unknown words and complex phrases.celebrate (v). celebration (n)be covered withlively characters2. students do the match work according to the reading, match the phrases into passive voice sentences. groups show their answers. (该活动在录像中由于拍摄角度,体现的不够明确。具体做法是把文中一些涉及被动语态的句子打印在小纸片上,每句话截成三段,分别是被动语态的主语、谓语be动词加动词过去分词、句子剩余部分,让学生小组合作按照课文意思来组成完整的被动语态句子,复习了该单元的语法,也巩固阅读之后学生对于重点短语、课文大意的理解。每一组三个句子,4个小组分别组成关于孔明灯,剪纸,泥塑和香包这4种民间艺术的句子。例如涉及第2段孔明灯的内容学生会组合出这样三个句子:sky lanternswere first usedby zhuge kongming.sky lanternsare made ofbamboo and paper.sky lanternsare seen assymbols of happiness and good wishes.3. sum up the grammar rules of changing active voice into passive voice.question1: who made these folk art pieces. answer: the common people.
