book iii module 2 developing and developed countries课前学习目标:1.to think and talk about some countries and continents in the world2. to get familiar with the words on page 11 and try to grasp some words if possible3. to solve some difficulties by consulting dictionaries, surfing the internet and so on4. to fin out the two biggest problems for developing countries 学法指导:自主、探究式 合作一、 热身导航:1.预习课本第11页的内容并完成课本相关的练习。2. 通过略读和详读相结合,了解p12文章的主要大意,并能完成课后相关的练习。二、 预习成果小验收:i which countries are developed countries and which are developing ones? developed countries are most of the western countries,mainly including america, (德国)_, (法国) _the uk, (意大利)_, canada and japan, (荷兰)_ norway,(瑞典)_developing countries are most of countries in (亚洲)_, (非洲)_and latin america. ii lets go over some words. match the words with the definitions.developed country developing country disease education hunger income poverty1 the knowledge that you get at school or college _2 when people have very little money _3 all illness _4 when you do not have food, especially for a long period of time _5 the money that you make _6 a country that was a lot of business and industry _ 7a country that is poor and does not have much industry _iii reading read the text quickly and find out the main idea of each paragraphpara1 _para2 _para3 _para4 _para5 _三、热身加油站 care international(国际关怀组织)care international is one of the worlds largest development organisations. it has over 500 projects in 72 countries in asia, africa, south america, the middle east and eastern europe. every year care helps to improve the lives of nearly 30 million of the worlds poorest people.although care receives money from wealthy developed countries and international institutions such as the united nations, it is an independent organisation and no governments control it. millions of dollars are also given by private companies and ordinary people around the world.cares goal is to reduce poverty and hunger in developing countries and therefore increase the life expectancy of the inhabitants of these countries. the organisation has offices in 11 countries around the world and its permanent workers organise the development programmes. thousands of care volunteers work with local people on a variety of projects in the areas of education, agriculture, health care, water safety and building businesses. here are some examples of care projects.in some places there is disease because people drink dirty water. in kenya(肯尼亚),volunteers are working with local people to improve water systems in 48 villages. in bangladesh(孟加拉国), although there is plenty of water, in many places it is not safe to drink. care is teaching local people how to build their own cheap water systems.in 2001, projects in 39 countries helped more than 800,000 people increase their incomes. care lends people money to start small businesses and its volunteers teach them basic financial skills. a programme in bolivia is helping poor people develop a successful tourist project so they can increase their incomes.care works with farmers to improve agriculture and produce more food. however, an increase in production is not enough. care also encourages farmers to look after the environment. this is very important for the future of farming. in sri lanka, care volunteers are teaching local people how to increase the production of rice by using better farming methods.q1 what is the goal of care international?_ _q2: translate the underlined sentence into chinese._q3: who works for care on its development projects
