说课稿8A Unit4 The story of Xi WangDear leaders/teachers: Good morning! Today Im very glad to be given such a good chance to report my teaching ideas. All of you here are experts and my teachers. So I think Im very lucky because I can learn a lot from you.My topic is the Story of Xi Wang taken from Unit 4 Book 8A in Fun With English. My teaching idea is made up of five parts. They are : part 1. My understanding of this lesson; part 2 Analysis of the students; part 3. My teaching theories and methods; part 4 .Teaching steps; part 5. Additional illustration .Part 1 My understanding of this lesson:. the analysis of the teaching material .1This lesson provides the students a reading passage. It plays an important role in the teaching of this unit because to foster the students reading ability is very important in Junior English teaching . And such a topic is related to students daily life, so its helpful to raise learning interest.2By learning this passage, students can improve their reading ability and know something about giant pandas. At the Same time, we should get the students to understand some difficult sentences to comprehend the passage better. Also, the student would receive some moral education, that is , to let the Ss learn to protect giant pandas and other wild animals3As we know, this lesson is the second period of this unit. So if the students learn it well, they will easily learn the rest of their unit better. . Teaching aimsAccording to the new course standard and the analysis of the teaching material, I set the teaching aims below:1knowledge aims:To understand the main idea of the passage; learn about the giant pandas and to identify specific information about giant pandas by learning this passage.2Ability aims:To develop the Ss abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing. To train the students ability of working in groups and learn to communicate with others.3Target on Emotion and sense of culture:To train the Ss co-operation ability and spirit and proper competition. Also we should make the Ss learn to protect animals, love animals and love the nature .Part 2: Analysis of the students.Before talking about the main and difficult points, lets first analyse the students. The students of Grade 8 have learned some English. They also know sth about pandas. But on the other hand, theyre lack of vocabulary and skills of learning English. And they dont often use English to express themselves or communicate with others.According to this and the aims, the main and difficult points may be like this. .main and difficult points1To master some new language items in this lesson and learn to use them to describe giant pandas and to communicate with others.3To improve the Ss ability of using English to express themselves and communicate with others.Part 3: My teaching theories and methods.The new course standard points out: The teacher should design the teaching activities regarding the Ss as the centre, should pay close attention to each students, to each students mood life and emotion experience and personality building. It also points out, teachers should develop students interest in learning English, improve their language ability through perceiving, experience participation and cooperative learning. So through this lesson, Ill use these methods below to carry out these theories, such as:pair work, group work, individual work, discussion, cooperation and competition and task-based methods, And I will let the Ss learn in real situations. And in teaching lesson , a recorder , pictures , school objects, CAI will be needed to stress the key points and break through the difficult pointsPart 4 .Teaching steps.In order to make my class lively and attract the Ss to participate actively , so as to achieve the teaching aims, I design the following steps:Theyre step 1. Warmup and lead-in. Step 2Presentation Step 3Practice. Step 4Production Step 5Consolidation.Now, Ill talk about the teaching steps.In step 1. First , Ill play a guessing game with the students, Ill draw part of some animals, let the Ss guess what it is, such as.Then have a free talk with the students about animals :T:Do you like animals?/What kind of animal do you like?/Why?and so on 【purpose】Starting the class like this, we can form a better English learning surrounding and it can make the class full of emotion of happiness and relaxation. The Ss can lay their emphasis on the study easily.Step 2. Presentation:This course is very important. We all know“A good beginning is half done.” So Ill mainly talk about this step.1Ill use CAI to present the passage, Present the growth of Xi Wang by showing the Ss the pictures of different periods of Xi Wang . And arrange some situations to help the Ss understand some key points, Ill write some key words and sentences on the blackboard and teach them in different ways: using pictures, body language, contest to make the Ss master them.2And the Ss should try to get the main idea of the passage by scanning, skimming and listening.【purpose】To present by CAI can make it easier and interesting for the Ss to learn and grasp the meaning because CAI can provide real situations. And the Ss can learn by listening and lookingStep 3Practice:In this step, I design listening, intensive reading and retelling to help the Ss to get further information and master the target words and sentences. I use a flow chart:the growth of Xi Wang to help them.From this step on, I divide the Ss into four groups and bring a competition into my class. At the end of the class we will see which group is the best.Step4Production:In this step 1 mainly design the following activities: they are , discussion and an interview【purpose】In this step Ss should work in pairs or groups. And task based teaching methods is used to develop Ss ability of communication and their ability of cooperation will be trained . If they can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English and
