Its/ How much are ? Theyre”Step Pre-taskGuessing We use some pictures to introduce the new words by CAI, The students guess the meanings after the teacher gives the pronunciation of the new words in English, then repeat them. Play a gameLook at some pictures ,ask and answer in pairs, using“What is this? It is.What are they? They are .”Then find out the missing word.Step Connect up and down , showing new knowledge .There is a bag in this picture, if you want to know the price of the bag, you will say “How much is the bag? ” Answer like this“It is $8. $88 dollars.”Show another picture, they are shoes, if you want to buy them ,you may say“How much are they?”Answer like this“They are $9.”Students repeat them , then ask and answer in pairs.Task 1 Discuss about the price of the real things Students use the clothes they bring, then practice the conversation in pairs. As students work, listen on various pairs so that you can check progress and help with pronunciation as needed .After students have had a chance to practice several exchanges ask pairs to come to the front of the classroom and act out the conversation.Task 2 Circle the things you hear Ask the students to listen to the tape and circle the things in the picture you hear.Task 3 Group work Work in three. A and B practice the conversation, then C as a reporter, says“A has a hat shoes . It is They are.Step Communicate and discuss, work in pairs.Task 4 Shopping time Tell students that they have a chance to be business people. Divide the class into small groups , and have each group based at a “stall” in the classroom. The groups can either provide their own materials to sell, or you can prepare flowers, books, fruits etc, and give them to the groups. Provide each group with some money in play money. Within the groups, divide the students into clerks, who stay at their stall and sell the groups goods, and customers, who visit other stalls to make purchases. As students work, move around the classroom checking studentsprogress and answering questions as needed.Task 5 Explain and summarize. Let the students sum up this class. Explain that at the end of the activity, the group with the most value in stars (you will decide the value of stars that each
