Material analysis 本节课是第七单元话题一的第二课时,主要活动是1a和2a。通过Jack和Kangkang谈论生日聚会的对话,展开本课的教学内容。主要学习谈论生日和日期的表达方式。通过找出序数词的拼写规律以及通过听录音了解并掌握序数词的拼写及读音。还将通过匹配图文和对比了解日期的不同表达法学习美式英语和英式英语的差异。另外,学生还将继续巩固由be动词构成的一般过去时的句型。. Teaching aims1. Knowledge aims Can read the new words能够根据已学语音、音标以及发音规则,正确朗读下列词汇并运用于情景对话中:birthday, date, calendar, plan, celebrate, party 能够熟练拼读、书写序数词: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth等; 能够用英语谈论生日和日期的表达法,如:(1) When is your birthday? May 13th.(2) Whats the date today? Its May 8th. 2. Skill aims 能够听懂有关询问生日、谈论日期的表达方式,并做出正确地回答; 能够应用询问生日的表达方式进行简单的交流; 能够用正确地语音、语调朗读对话; 能够应用本课重点句型编写谈论生日、日期的对话。 3. (Show a picture of Yao Ming and ask:Who is he ? What does he do? When was he born ?Where was he born? Step2. Presentation 1.Show a picture of calendar and ask: what day is it today? When is it? Whats the date?Then help students answer the question. 2 .Show the ordinal numbers on the screen and teach students for several times, and then ask students to find the forming rules and remind them to pay attention to the particular changes. 3.Teach the new words ; Find out the changing rule of ordinal numbers 4.Explain the forming rules 5.Repeat the question: When is your birthday? Let students know the meaning of the sentence. Then ask them to listen to the tape and pay attention to the questions: When is Kangkang sbirthday? How does he celebrate it? 6.Play the tape and let students follow the tape. Step 3. Consolidation 1.Let students read the dialog in pairs. Then ask them to make up a new dialog in pairs according to 1a.2.Give students 1minute to do 1b by themselves. 3.Show the video of the first picture in 2b and ask one question. Then choose one student to answer the question and lead students to know the different ways of expressing dates. 4.Point out the other dates and let students practice them by using two expressing ways. Let students talk about the background knowledge about the four pictures. Step 4. PracticeShow a picture in 3 and make a model: “When was Kangkang born? He was born on May 13th,2000.Where was he born?He was born in China.”Show the next three pictures and let students ask and answer in pairs. Step 5. Production 1.Give students 2 mins to make a short dialog in groups according to the key sentences in this section.Choose some groups to act out their dialogs. 2.Assign the homework: Review ordinal numbers and the ways of expressing dates; Remember the new words and read 1a 3times with others; Preview Section C.
