(Purpose: Listen to the report and learn some new words and phrases.)
Step 2: While-reading
a. Read silently and finish Part B1.
Take out the masks and present the four students. Then let them go through the passages quickly and match the hobbies.
(Purpose: Read in silence and catch the information about their hobbies.)
a. Read after the tape and finish Part B2.
Read each paragraph aloud after the tape. Do T/F. Add some questions.

Step 1 Lead-in
Talk about the four students in the text. Ask some questions about them:
What’s his/her name?
What does he/she look like?
What does he/she like?
What’s he/she good at?
Tell them to talk about their ages, appearance, hobbies and activities.
Step 2 Read
Get them to pay attention to the new words and phrases.
Get them to read the words and phrases loudly. At the same time, let them spell the words together loudly. Then try to find out what information about the four students can we get from the text. Make a table about these, including names, ages, be form, appearance and hobbies.
Step 3 Drills
1. Get the students to introduce themselves, with the given sentences:
I’m/ my name is ….
I’m… years old. (My appearance, hobbies)
I like doing something. /I’m good at….
Firstly, we can get them to practice in pairs. Then make some pairs present their dialogues before the class.
2. Show some pictures of some famous persons on the screen. Such as Yao Ming, Sun Yang and Ye Shiwen . Ask them to describe them, and say something about them.
Step 4 Listening
Listen to the tape of Part A again. Then do the exercises on Page 9. We can listen twice to try to make most of the students understand the text.
Then check the answers one by one.
Step 5 Exercise
Finish the exercises on Page 10.

Millie are happy to make some new friends. Let’s meet her new friends. Then take out the charts of Kitty, Amy, Yao Ming, Jack Zhou, and Meng Fei and present the five people one by one.
Kitty and Amy: Read Part A1 and answer: Is Amy’s hair short? What about Kitty? What do they like doing?
Yao Ming, Jack Zhou, and Meng Fei:Some questions about their hair and hobbies.
c. Learn the new words.
Put the charts and write the information of five people on the blackboard, then summer the words “hair; age; hobby; looks; cute”
