Popular Music (拓展模块)教学设计方案山西省朔州市应县地区应县职业技术学校 学员姓名贾秀兰课题名称Unit 8 Popular Music科目英语年级高三教学时间45分钟学习者分析1. 职业高中高三的学生已经具备了一些基础知识,对本单元语法“不定式或动词的-ing形式在动词之后的用法”能作简单的表述;2. 更加喜欢流行音乐,比较熟悉“披头士”乐队及著名歌手迈克尔杰克逊,能说出他们的一些代表作品,学生的这一兴趣对学习本文有很大帮助;3. 这些学生大都16、17岁,活泼好动,但注意力集中时间较短,自律性较差,不善于积极主动发现和探索问题。教学目标一、情感态度与价值观1.养成课前预习生词以及课文内容的良好习惯;2.学习著名歌手的成功事迹以及他们不畏艰难的毅力和勇气,激励学生确定自己的人生目标,策划职业生涯,并为之努力的决心。二、过程与方法1.播放几首著名的英语流行乐曲,并准备“约翰列侬、保罗麦卡特尼、乔治哈里森、斯图尔特苏特克里弗、彼得贝特斯”的图片,让学生讨论自己喜欢的歌曲及这些人物;2.快速阅读课文,分组讨论并让小组代表介绍著名歌手的成功事迹以及他们所处的时代背景。三、知识与技能1.注意文中出现的“动词之后的动词不定式或-doing形式”,在阅读中归纳常见的短语、句型,并能够发现疑难点问题;2.能用正确的语音、语调朗读课文和复述课文。教学重点、难点1.掌握教学目标中的Key Words和Useful Expressions的基本用法;2.掌握“不定式或动词的-ing形式在动词之后的用法”。教学资源英语拓展模块教学参考书,多媒体(幻灯片、DVD光盘),图片教学过程教学活动1Warming up:1. 检查学生预习生词和短语的情况;2. 组织讨论Warm up中的三个问题:Do you like popular music?Do you know any western pop singers?Is singing English songs a good way of learning English?补充问题:Do you know what is pop music?How many pop singers do you know In China or in other countries?Do you know anything about the Beatles?总结以上问题的讨论,导入课文教学。教学活动2运用插图及DVD光盘展开教学:1. 播放几首著名的英语流行歌曲,回答:What kind of music did you hear just now?Can you sing an English pop song?2. 给予学生适当的提示,展示插图并讨论: Who are the four young men?What are they?教学活动3提出Reading Comprehension中的5个问题,带着问题进行快速阅读:提示:标记出现的语法点,及难于理解的句子或短语。5个问题:1. Why did popular music develop very quickly in recent years?2. What types of music are included in popular music?3. Who were the Beatles? Why were they loved by young people?4. What was the new method that the record companies used to make profits?5. Has popular music changed much over the past two decades?在4分钟的时间内进行快速阅读,之后要求回答,并掌握学生的快速阅读理解情况。教学活动4举例讲解Key Words和Useful Expressions的用法:1. Pop music accelerated(加速)注意时态用过去式 in the twentieth century.2. The first thing came to our mind is music that belongs to the here and now(此时此地).更多用作副词,在句中作状语3. As句中as从属连词,表原因或理由,意思是“因为,由于” serious concert music grew more difficult to understand,it became less capable of filling the needs of the mass market for music.4. It is no wonder that(难怪),over the past century,popular music has grown to an amazing degree.5. 在第4句中degree作名词“程度”,to a .degree意思是“到.程度,在.程度上”之后,播放DVD中关于ReadingPopular Music的课文录音。Homework完成Reading Comprehension和Language Study中的练习。板书设计Popular Music1. 回忆本单元的重要生词及短语(注意发音规则):Key Words: case revolution accelerate degree influence invent spread profit establish album tenderUseful Expressions: belong to; demand for ; one after another ; it is no wonder that.2. Grammar Focus: 不定式或动词-ing形式在动词之后的用法3. 应掌握的知识与技能: 能用较正确的语音、语调朗读和复述课文。课后小结与反思1. 本文是综合性精读材料,只有深入阅读理解,才能掌握教学目标中的Key Words和Useful Expressions的基本用法,并注意不定式或动词-ing形式在动词之后的用法;2. 通过文章的学习及光盘录音的跟读,完成能够用较正确的语音、语调朗读和复述课文这一目标;3. 在一节课内要进行回忆知识、展示图片 、分组讨论、小组发言、语法分析、快速阅读、精读以及举例讲解重难点,完成课后练习,课堂任务量较大,时间有些紧张,我觉得没有很好的完成精读这一内容,这是一个需要改进的地方,如果分两节课进行操练效果会更好 。附:课文原文Popular MusicWhen we think of popular music, the first thing that comes to out mind is music that belongs to the here and now; disco, country, and rock and roll. In each of these cases, popular music is music of the present. it has a wide audience and is very popular .The revolution in popular music was started with romanticism .It accelerated in the twentiethcentury. As serious concert music grew more difficult to understand, it became less capable of filling the needs of the mass market for music .However, popular music met that needs.Around the turn of the twentieth century, the demand for music began to grow greater .Furthermore, powerful new technologies were developed, one after the other ,to promote the spread of music to the masses; phonographs radio , radio, movies ,and, finally, television. It is no wonder that ,over the past century, popular music has grown to an amazing degree .Today popular music ,also called pop music, enjoys the widest audience in the world, it is produced for and sold to a broad audiences, types of popular music include jazz, music from motion pictures, country music , and rock music .influenced by social, economic ,and technological forces ,popular music is closely linked to the social position of its performers and audiences.The leading pop music singers were the Beatles -the most popular of the 60s rock groups. The Beatles were four young men from Liverpool, England. The Beatles sang songs written mainly by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Their infectious music and witty lyrics made them two of the finest 20th-century songwriters. Early Beatles songs were written in traditional forms. Their lyrics gradually became more subtle and tender, like the song ”Yesterday”, and sometimes very abstract . They often used modern record-production techniques to invent new musical effects. Under their influences rock and roll became more commonly known as rock music.A number of factors contributed to the quick development of the music industry during the mid-1980s. Music video and compact disc stimulated the demand for popular music. In 1982, Michael Jacksons Thriller album became the biggest-selling record in history, and it established a new way for record companies to make profits by relying on a few big hits instead of many s
