Sometimes they have short and scattered attention.2. Some students are shy and not bold enough to speak English in class.There are 23 boys and 12 girls in the class. The students English levels are different. The following data shows the result of pre test on BIC7B on May 20th. Have a brief idea of the next learning. Step2Presentation and Practice(12 mins) Students: 1. Read the new words and do the exercise of odd one out.2. Category. Put the words in the right category.3. Competition of saying as many words as possible in 20 seconds. Teacher: Get students into practice and competition actively and under control.1. To teach the new words and expressions of food .2. To keep students attended and excited.3. To hold the 1st round of the competition. Step3 Q and A(8 mins)Students: 1. Answer the questions according to the pictures given.2. Step4 Passage learning: the Downtown Cafe( 10 mins) Students: 1. Guess the main idea of the passage according to pictures given.2. Have a memory test about the passage. Decide the sentences true or false.3. Have a word-filling competition. Teacher: 1. Divide the passage into several short sentences and have three kinds of activities.2. Use some pictures to help Ss.1. To practise using the words and sentence patterns in a competitive way.2. To let Ss have different trainings according to their different levels.3. To elicit information gap and feedback from the students Step5Read and repeat (3 mins) Students: 1 Read the passage in 35 seconds. The others listen and try to find if there are any mistakes. You can earn one score for one mistake. 2. Repeat the passage with only a few key words given. One score for one sentence.Teacher: Hold the competition.1. To practice using the words and expressions in the text.2. To get students excited in the competition.3. To get students to listen to people attentively to see if there are any mistakes4. To get all students involved in the competition.Step 6 Free talk: Whats your habit of eating out?(3 mins)Students: Have a free talk about his/her own habit of eating out with some prompts.To practise using words and expressions in our daily life.Step 7Assessment and ranking( 1 min) Students:Fill in the assessment table to give assessment to himself and other group membersTeacher: 1.
