Teach activities 1a & 1b. These two activities are designed to introduce the new vocabulary and target language by listening and oral practice. Call students attention to the two pictures in 1a and then describe them individually. S: Rockins Restaurant looks terrible. It has loud music and red walls. While the Blue Restaurant looks comfortable. It has soft music and blue walls. Ask students to choose which one they would like to go. S1: I like to go to the one on the left because the music there would make me excited. S2: I like to go to the one on the right because the music there would make me quiet. S3: I like to go to the one on the left because the pictures there would make me tense. S4: I like to go to the one on the right because the things there would make me happy. Look at the chart and speak out the sample answer in 1b. And then listen to the tape carefully, fill in blanks with proper words.2. Teach activity 1c. This part is designed to provide students with oral practice talking about their opinion on the restaurants in 1a. Point to the sample conversation in the box and ask students to read it. Tell students to talk about their opinion, and then make up their own conversations with the information in 1b.Step 3 Practice1. Teach activities 2a & 2b. These two parts are designed to train students listening skills. Read the instructions and point out the four pictures to the class. T: What are they doing? Ask students to guess the things in the pictures they are doing one by one. Play the tape. Students only listen at the first time. The second time, students number the pictures when they are listening. Ask students to read the statements in 2b, and know something about the conversation between Tina and John. Play the tape again, this time students listen carefully and complete the statements.2. Teach activity 2c. This part is designed to provide students with oral practice. Read the instruction, tell students to look at the sample conversation between Tina and John. Invite a pair of students to read it to the class. Ask students to work in pairs to make up a conversation using information from activities 2a and 2b.
