First class focus on training students oral communication ability. The main content of this lesson: 1. Warming up: drowning, traffic accidents, burns, cuts, choking, such as injury to six common scene images. Teachers require students to look at the picture and discuss :”what would you do in the situations?”and “what could we do to prevent these accidents?”2. Listening: after listening two conversations, and judging the sentences true or false. 3. Speaking: about home security guidelines. Students are required to learn using what you should do and should not do the expression of method; Students in pairs and tell each other home security guidelines, the advice is put forward. Analyses of the Students:1. High school students have mastered some first aid knowledge, also have certain ability in listening and speaking, can use simple English to express, but normal in English communication between students is less, cant form a natural English language environment.2. The students of English subject in modern information technology such as multimedia teaching has a strong interest in learning, enthusiasm is higher. Teaching Aims:1. Learn and master the useful words and phrases:drown,bleed,choke,catch fire,be on fire,and so on.2. Make the students talk about how to do first aid and how to prevent accidents happening with some useful expressions.3. Help the students to improve their speaking and listening abilities by talking about first aid.Teaching Ideas:English is a important communication tool for people to communicate, and it can not only to read, write, and will listen and speak.So, training students oral communication ability is so important, and I design this lesson mainly adopt the activity type teaching mode. First aid in the form of questions on this topic, and the six common injury in the Warming up scene pictures and Integrating skills of normal damage processing integrated, the teacher according to the text of six common picture of the damage scenario questions.Design a few sentences and then according to the contents of the Listening, then ask students to judge right or wrong and correct.In Speaking, students use the sentence pattern is given q&a home security guidelines, the last in the Homework to students debate whether the first aid lessons at school, etc.The whole teaching process mainly use oral English to communicate. Purpose is to train students the ability to get information by listening to English, innovation, communication skills. Multimedia teaching, visually using images appear in daily life and family safe hidden trouble existing in the injured scene. Teaching activities in teaching material as the carrier, Students ranging from individual activities, group activities and class activities. Make the best can inspire students interest in learning English, improve the classroom efficiency. Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points: Key Points:1. Improve the students listening ability.2. Train the students speaking ability.3.Some expressions about “Giving advice”.4.Key vocabulary,such as:aid,drown,bleed,first aid,catch fire.Difficult Points:1. Ss: Good afternoon, Miss Shen!T: When you have your finger cut and youre bleeding, what would you do first?Ss: We have to stop the bleeding first. T: Very well. Today were going to talk something about first aid. Here are our goals(Show teaching aims on the screen.). In this class, well mainly practice speaking and listening about first aid, which is very important to us. If we know some knowledge of giving first aid, we can help people in an emergency, even save ones life. Now can you tell me what is the first aid? Ss: First aid is to give a person medical treatment before we find a doctor.T: Quite right. First aid is the science of giving medical care to a person before a doctor can be found. When youre giving first aid, if you want to get help, you must remember some emergency telephone numbers. Do you know the emergency numbers for ambulance, Fire Department, police?Ss: Yes. And Id like to ask sb. to talk about how should we do first in these situations and how to prevent them happening (Show some pictures about the accidents on the screen). 1. (Show picture 1: Drowning) T: What should we do with drowning?S1: First check to see if he or she is breathing. If not, try to start his or her breathing at once.T: Do you agree with him/her? Ss: Yes.T: How should we prevent it happening?S2: We can learn to swim. Dont swim alone. Never swim in dangerous waters.T: Good ideas. (Show picture 2: Car accident) Can we pull the person out of the car?Ss: No, never pull him or her out of the car. Find enough people to lift the car safely and take her to hospital as quickly as you can. T: How to avoid car accidents? Can we use cellphone when riding a bike?Ss: No.T: Can we run in the streets?Ss: No. We must follow the traffic rules and be careful. Dont run in the streets. T: Very good! (Show picture 3: Burns) How should we deal with burns? S3: Cool the area of skin with cold water for a few minutes. Cover the wound with a loose bandage or a piece of dry clean cloth. See a doctor if the person is badly burntT: And how to prevent them happening?S4: Never play with fire. Be careful with gas. Make sure that all the electric wires are safe.T: Thats good advice. (Show picture 4: Bleeding) When we see someone bleeding, what can we do to help him or her?S5: Try to stop the bleeding. Press a handkerchief onto the bleeding point and hold it there. Hold up the part of bleeding body if possible. T: I agree with you. Then how to avoid it?S6: We ought to be careful enough when doing anything.T: Right. (Show picture 5: Cuts) How should we deal with cuts?S7: For a simple cut, just wash the area of cut, dry it and cover it with a piece of dry clean cloth. If the cut is serious, we must stop the bleeding. Press a handkerchief onto the bleeding point and hold it there.T: What should we do to prevent them?S8: Dont play with the knife or other sharp objects (things).T: (Show picture 6: Choking) How about this situation?Ss: Drink some water or eat some soup. Make the food down by patting him on the back. T: How should we prevent it?Ss: Never eat too fast. Dont talk or laugh when eating.Step ListeningT: You all did a good job. Next lets do some listening. In order to be safe, If a pan of oil catches fire, turn off the gas and cover the pan quickly. B: Right. Wed always make sure that electric wires are safe and that children cant touch them. We shouldnt play with electric equipment.A: And wed never leave small things on the floor or table which a baby can put in its mouth.B: Yes.
