Reading Report of Symposium and Book 7 of the RepublicInternational Politics:Wang LeiNumber:51122905022There is no deny the fact that Symposium and Book 7 of the Republic are considerably excellent.On the one hand,arguments are persuasive,on the other hand,we can learn a lot of knoeledge from them.Symposium is one of Platos two greatest dialogues.This dialogue affecting me deepest is to descript the origin of love.The original people are spherical,their physical strength,energy and character are very powerful. Zeus, the king of the gods,in order to prevent them from rebelling.After this thing,people very miss the other half.So they run to each other and hug the other one,they did not sepatate at last. People would be split into two and a half.People embrace and integrate with each other.This not only is combination of the flesh,but also is combination of the spirit.Love was originally from the emotional needs.People need each other and willing to sacrife themselves for the other.This is precisely proved that love is great and selfless.However,the reality of love need both to pay.So that the flower of love can bloom for long time.It lets me think that many lovers eventually break up because of all kinds of reasons.Some lovers break up because of their parents. Cinderellas fairy tale is very difficult to achieve.Some lovers just because of the other are poor,he can not satisfy her kinds of requirements.They just need the substance love ,do not consider the spirit love.They do not learn how to love.I strongly hope every lovers can get married.What is more,he also mentioned beauty.Only we know the reality of beauty,we can approach the reality of beauty.Thereby,we can possess true virtue which let our life richer and broaden our horizons.We will more treasure time and love.We should not waste time and love.This dialogue also praised many gods,especially love of God.For example,Agathon said“Gods are blessed,but love of God is the most blessed,because she is the lovely and outstanding.She is the youngest.If all of the gods contained the god of love ,then they would not have to kill each other and imprisoned and did not use violence.”From this,we can see the god of love was the most nobel ,her capacity and power were infinite.So love is the most beautiful human language.Book 7 of the Republic is very important and relatively hard to understand.But we can benefit a lot from it.It telled that after the cave prisoner was released to see the real outside world ,he surprised his own performance.This prisoner saw the real thing,rather than his own shadow,his heart world was extremely complex.After visual accepting,his mind also changed.Plato discussed the chang of the prisoner,that contained with deep moral.This was a man from darkness to light,from ignorant to knowledge,from abandoned to salvation.As far as I am concern
