It is easy for students to read and understand well.Analysis of students: Students are interested in this topic. They can get the main idea of this passage and find some important information. It is useful for them to finish reading this passage. Learning aims:Knowledge aims: 1. Students review some words and expressions.2. Students learn some new words and expressions.3. Students can read and understand this passage well by themselves.Ability aims: 1. Improve students reading ability by skimming and scanning. 2.Enable the students to retell the passage by self-studying and cooperation.Emotional aims:1. Students treat their weight correctly.2. Students enjoy English. Learning difficult and important points:1. How to improve students reading ability by skimming and scanning.2.Improve students reading skills to get information, deal with information .Learning methods: reading, listening, self-studying, cooperation,and presentation. Teaching aids:Computer,weighing machine,PPTThe class is mainly talking about a new weighing machine.According to the learning aims and the learning difficult and important points, I divided the whole class into the following steps;Step1. Greetings and leading-in ( 5minutes)1. Review some words and expressions.2. Show students a weighing machine and invite some of them to weigh them.设计说明通过创设情境,学生亲自参与与课文相关的活动,让学生快速融入与主题相关的英语学习氛围,引入主题。通过学生和老师称重,老师的描述,让学生学会爱独一无二的自己,既是本课导入又是本节课的情感目标体现。Step2. Pre-reading ( 2minutes)1. Ask students to look at the title and predict what the passage is mainly talking about.2. Tell students to look at the picture and then describe what the woman is doing.设计说明利用文中的标题和插图,让他们积极主动的参与,以探索者的姿态投入到阅读课中。Step3.Fast reading ( 5minutes)1. Show students their reading tasks.2. Students are given 4minutes to read and finish five multiple choices.3. Students show and read their answers.设计说明快速限时阅读课文作为整体来处理,设为选择题与高考阅读题型一致,学生容易接受,在对课本的表层理解的基础上,要求学生完成这一环节难度不高,学生能很好地完成任务,不仅训练和提高了学生略读的阅读技能,而且提高了学生阅读的积极性。Step4 Careful reading( 6minutes)1. Show reading tasks to students.2. Students read this passage again and finish reading tasks.3. Check students answers.设计说明学生再读一遍文章,加深了对文章的印象,培养了学生的语感。本环节设计了填写表格推断词义和理解句子,培养了学生读懂课文的能力,推断新词的能力和理解句子的能力。Step6 Listening( 3minutes ) Students listen to the record carefully.设计说明通过听课文,训练学生的听力,让学生注意自己的单词发音。Step7 Retell( 5minutes)Students read this passage loudly by themselves and then retell this passage.设计说明通过让学生大声朗读这篇文章,训练学生读的能力,培养语感。复述可以帮助学生再次梳理文章线索,并能填写文中重要词汇,提高学生掌握词汇的能力,对本篇文章的总结与概括,学生学会总结的能力,对学生的写作具有重要的指导意义。Step8.writing( 4minutes)1. Each group chooses one of the three pictures on the screen.2. Each group writes three sentences on the blackboard.设计说明本环节设计为小组活动,每个小组通过选择图画写句子,学生能用与本课相关的三个句子进行图画中的人物的描写,然后写在黑板上,其他小组猜测他们所写内容属于哪副图,训练学生的写作能力,培养学生合作能力。Step9.Homework(1minute)Students read this passage again and finish some vocabulary exercises.设计说明学生需要再读课文才能完成此部分的练习题,训练学生阅读的能力和掌握词汇的能力。 Listen and skim to get the main idea about the passage.
