Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains.Section A (1a-2c)济源市济渎路学校 李珍霞Teaching aims:Knowledge aims:1.使学生能够在听的过程中识别这些单词: shoot, stone, weak, god, remind,能正确读出这些单词,并能在小组对话和讲述故事的过程中正确使用上述单词。2. 使学生能在讲述故事时正确使用这些句型:(1)How does the story begin?(2)What happened next?(3)Once upon a time, there was / were(4)As soon as the man finished talking, Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.(5) The story reminds us that you can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.Ability aims:1. 学生在讲述故事的过程中合理使用 “as soon as ,unless,sothat .2.学生能够通过听来获取主旨大意。Emotional aims: Learn the spirit of Yu Gong .Teaching important points: How to retell a story and how to use the conjunctions.Teaching difficult points: Learn to express the details in the story and say some simple ideas.Teaching methods:Task-based teaching method.Step I Warming up1. Ask: Do you know any stories in China? What are they?2.Look at the pictures and say the names of the four pictures.Step II Presentation1.Match the story titles with the pictures a-d.2.Check the answer .3.Ask the students to speak out the names of the stories in order.Then ask: Which story do you like best ?Step III Listening1.Watch a video and answer the questions.(1)What is the story about ?(2)How many mountains were there near Yu Gongs house?(3)What did Yu Gong want his family to do ?2. Get the students to listen and check the facts they hear.3. Listen again and try to practice the conversation.(1)Listen and answer the questions.(They can only fill in the blanks.)Q1.How does the story begin ?Q2.What happened next?Q3. Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains?(2)Ask and answer . The teacher asks one student ,and then they ask and answer in pairs.4.Listen to the story about Yu Gong, and number the pictures 1-4 in order to tell the story.(1) Look at the pictures and predict the order.(2)Look through the sentences of 2b.Try to predict the answer.(3)Listen to the tape and complete 2a and 2b. (4)Check their answers.(5) Listen again and fill in the blanks.Step IV Practice 1.Look at the pictures and try to retell the story .2.Show the story chain ,tell them how to tell a story using the proper words.3.Make an interview. They may do it like this:A:Im a repoter from CCTV1.May I ask you some questions? B:Sure.A:Do you know the story Yu Gong Moves a Mountain? B:Yes.A:How does it begin? B:Once upon at time ,.A:What happened next? B:.A:Did anyone laugh at him ?
