A Chinese host may be ashamed if there is no food left over at the end of the meal. On the other hand, in America, a host will try to provide enough food to satisfy everyone, but no more. American guests might think it rude not to eat all of the food provided, because the host may think they did not like the meal.Americans prefer more bread, meat and dairy products. By contrast, Chinese eat less meat and dairy products, but more rice or noodles. Their ways of cooking are also different. Vegetable oils are often used in Chinese cooking.
