Step One: Warming up1.Show the students a short show about guitarist from America Erica Johnson.2. I like music,I want to join the music club,but I cant play the guitar.Can you play the guitar? I can paint. I want to join the art club. I can speak English. I want to join English, etc.Step Two: work in pairs.1.Introduce the new words.( sing,dance,play the guitar,swim,play chess,join the clubs)-Can you play the guitar?- Yes, I can. / No, I cant. _Can he play the guitar?_Yes,he can./No,he cant.2. Pairwork : What can you play? I can play the piano. What about you? I can sing.Step three:GroupworkTalk about the clubs.1. Group competition to name the clubs in our school.2. Ask and answer. What club do you want to join? I want to join the Music club.art clubmusic clubswimming club chess clubEnglish clubdancing clubTwo students act as interviewer, and the other two act as interviewee. The students can use the sentences as follows.
