Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains.Section B Reading黄岩实验中学 蒋文英一、教学目标:1. 知识目标:(1) 掌握单词:stepmother, wife, husband, whole, scene, shine, bright, ground, lead, voice, brave(2)掌握短语:a fairy tale, never mind, leadto2. 语言技能目标:(1) 了解戏剧体裁的特点,能够根据情节对白了解故事要点和人物的性格特征。(2)体味角色特点,尝试表演戏剧片断或全部。(3)发挥想象力,学会续写故事。3. 情感目标:学习主人公勇于直面困难,迎接挑战的精神;遇事冷静,积极想办法解决问题的生活态度。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:(1)能够根据情节对白总结故事情节要点并分析人物的性格特征。(2)体味角色,表演话剧。2.教学难点:(1)概括人物的性格特征。(2)续写故事。三、教学过程Step 1 Warm-upHave a free talk with the students.T: According to the pictures, Can you tell me the names of the stories?Where are these stories from? What kind of stories are these? What do you think of these stories?T: Today we will continue learning another fairy tale:Hansel and Gretel.Step 2 Before readingT: Before you read, decide what kind of text it is. Is it a letter, a play, a short story or something else? Show the features of the play to the students.Step 3 While reading Fast reading:1. Understanding the main characters of the play.Teach new words: wife, husband, stepmother, whole2. Understanding the background.When and where did the story happen? How did the story happen?Whats the stepmothers plan?How did Hansel solve it?If you were Gretel / Hansel, what would you do?3. Understanding the plots.Let the students read the play and fill in the mind map.Careful reading: 1. Understanding the details.(1)Get the students to divide the scenes according to the plans.(2)Match each description with the correct scene.Scene 1-3: How did Hansel and Gretel find their way home? Fill in the blanks. Teach new words: moonlight, shine bright, leadThen ask: What do you think of Gretel/Hansel? How about their stepmother/father.Scene 4: How does the stepmother feel when she saw Hansel and Gretel? Why cant Hansel go out to see the moon? Act it out.Scene 5-7: Why couldnt they see the bread? How does Hansel feel when she cant see the bread on the ground?What do you think of Hansel? Why does the writer use the words “beautiful” to describe the birds song? What do they see next? Is it a common house? Why? What would you do if you see the house?2. Understanding the personalities of the main characters. T: According to Scene1-7, can you describe the main characters personalities? Try to show the reasons.3. T: What happened next?
