Able to understand the new words and new phrases and use them well: whale,oil,protection,huge in their own passages;2. Able to use the conjunctions logically;3. Able to use these phrases(be in danger, putinto,protectfrom)correctly;4. Able to learn much about whales.Second, the ability objective: 1. Able to make a poster ;2. Able to write about a kind of animals;3. Able to use the words well according to their part of speech. Third, the emotional objective:1. Able to develop the spirit of cooperation through teamwork and pair-discussion to enlarge their mind; 2. Able to develop the quality of protecting animals in danger. Part 2 Teaching key and difficult pointsFirst, Important points: 1. Able to make good and clear sentences about whales;2. Able to develop their writing skills such as brainstorming, making sentences, making a passage;Second, Difficult points:Are to enable the Ss to use the writing skills naturally.Part 3 Teaching and learning methods1.Teaching methods : audio-visual teaching method, communicative teaching method, and task-based teaching methods.2.learning methods : group work,guessing,brainstorming as well as discussion.3.Teaching aids: a computer, blackboard, whiteboard, a projector .Part 4 Teaching proceduresStep 1 pre-writing(3mins)1. the teacher gives todays writing task directly, that is to make a poster by writing a paragraph about a kind of animals and why they need to be protected.2. guess: what animals are they?(giving such information as below on PPT)They are huge animals. They are very clever and also very friendly. They live in the sea. They can sing songs.They can jump high out of water. (showing the pictures of whales)The answer : they are whales.Step 2 While-writing ( 30 mins)1.Writing Task 1: Brainstorming (头脑风暴)(ask students to write some words or phrases about whales as many as they can on the writing paper) (1) Step 1: Getting some information from the pictures bellow or 3a on Page 55 The teacher will guide the students to think with some questions like this:What do they look like?Where do they live?What do they eat?What can they do?Why do some of them have to be protected?How can we protected them?(2) Step 2: writing the words or phrases students can think of about whales on a piece of paperThe teacher will guide the students to write according to the part of speech of the words, and give an example like adj. huge v. jump n. fish(3) The good way to make the writing mind richer: 1.Share opinions about whales about words and prases with each other.2. Explain what those words mean. 2.Writing Task 2: Making sentences with your words and phrases. Sentence examples: They are/look hugeThe whales (can)jump . People kill Humans catch whales for meat, fat and oilThe whales are in danger We shouldnt put rubbish into the sea 3. Writing Task 3: Making a passage by the questions in 3a . What do they look like?Where do they live?What do they eat?What can they do?Why do some of them have to be protected?How can we protected them?(1)Give a poster model in 3b: Whales are They live in They eat They canOne interesting fact is Another interesting fact isSome kinds of whales are in danger becauseWe should protect whales fromI think people should/shouldntstudents now begin to write a passage.(2)The good way to make the passage logical by using such words.(Because they can make your passage more logical(逻辑的). Conjunction: because/so , although/but, if, while, though, or, and, then, howeverStep 3 Post-writing ( 8 mins)1. Writing Task 4:Making the writing better (Show it and make it better). Share one students writing and check it to all the students.2. Homework today: Make the writing better. Teaching reflection:Though the whole writing class, I think the writing tasks can help train students to write efficiently from the simple task to the complex one. However, if the teacher can give students a writing summary, it can make students to correct their writing in a much cleaner way.
