To learn the grammar: article.教学难点：To understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article.课前准备A tape recorder, multimedia and some pictures.教学过程Step1 Ask and answer the questions.1. Work in pairs. First read the words in the box. Then use the words to answer the questions.2. Elicit ideas from the whole class with the students asking and answering the questions in pairs.3. Write their ideas up on the board.【设计意图】本活动为读前预热部分，目的是激活学生已有的背景知识，增强学生的话题意识，使学生能够围绕主题发表自己的看法。Step2 Read the passage and check your answers to Activity 1.1. Put the students in pairs to describe the pictures and talk about the title.2. Elicit ideas and add them to those from Activity1 on the board for a prediction task.3. Read the passage carefully and check their predictions and see if they were right.4. Go through the points on the board with the students and check their answers.【设计意图】本活动的主要目的是培养学生对课文大意的理解能力。Step3 Check the true sentences.1. Let the Ss read the passage carefully and then check the answers according to the passage.2. Ask the students to have a whole class discussion about whether these are problems that exist in every town in China and in other countries as well.2.
