Advices on Movie AppreciationA great many of English learners , who consider that film and television data in English is contribute to learning English directly, is highly on watching English films with a Copycat attitude and are expecting that they will improve their listening and speaking skills, even though, their level of aggregation. However, after a period of time, not a few person will found that they only have a limit room for progress, such as: listening like gulping down a whole date; speaking can not have an outstanding eloquence which was my purpose to choose this subject. I am not just want to know what the film says, but also the thought of this film and its language. but in real life ,we attract by the gut and not to deep consciously or pursue accurate. So the original intention of learn language change into follow the epitasis, and this lead to make study hard to penetrate and accurate, and also our progress will not like you expected. So, i give my few suggests:1. Most of people who watch English film to help learn English conscientiously ignore the important principles are succinctly cued and repeat. I found that I will make myself focus on the statement sentence people used in the film and its implicit meaning ,which film was I have seen and familiar with. But I always attracted by the gut. Because we lack of emphasize、understand and repeat the important and classic part of film during the motion picture projection period. So in my opinion, emphasis and explain the important part in film can strengthen image of it, maybe this will make students not satisfied with watching film.2. Choosing the more suitable movie for students.We should choose the movie that the language close to life, cultural characteristics is vivid and morality is also good. Through Dialogue earnestly, comments, cultural interpretation and expansion reading and other means to create conditions for students, and let students understand every movie. Through seeing movies and excellent stories, learn the important language and culture essence. The pragmatic of studying depend on the method of watch movie. They choose movie should less chose new movie or famous movie. Moreover, these movies should not be used one by one; we should chose and teach one, and left the most to see after class. The point of English studying is not changing, but repeat and repeat. As a good literature, a good movie is worth us for researching. The best strategy for students studying is: read dialogue carefully, and repeat to watch movie If possible, choose a few words and thoughts of the simpler movies, watching the film, turn off the subtitles, exercise own hearing, confirm the memory and judgment. As watching a movie, it is better to translate the memory sentences into their own language. That is to say, in the memory statements, it is better to contact with similar things in living. Although it is difficult to achieve and should take long-term practice, but I believe, we will have the effect out of our mind.3. Do the preparation works before playing movies.I find that we havent the book of Movie Appreciation. Before we appreciate movie, we do not know how to appreciate, and what should we concerned, so we can not do the preparation works before this class. Concerned these disadvantages, in order to make the students easy to understand, enhance the enthusiasm of the students, enhance the image of students, before playing the film; teachers can complete the background knowledge of the film, and put forward some enlightening questions. At the end of the film, students will think about the background and the questions which are put forward by teachers. Moreover teachers can desire some activities about the films, such as Classic fragment analysis, retelling stories, role play, discussion, writing Feedback and critics, to recite the classic dialogue, the role of a film dubbing some can boost the interest of students. Do not like the old mode which is seeing a film and then commenting it. For example, let the students work in group, according to the plot which they most interested and write a play. Then let the students make role play. Not only has given students the opportunity to develop their writing skills, but to live up lesson and students can learn information as well.Conclusion Movie appreciation is an effective way to learn English. It can combine language and knowledge, culture and background, history and humanities build a strong language environment, enrich the content of courses.
