Heavily discussions and Pros & Cons o Should allow manufacturers make feature-rich CPEs so that CPE can be deployed as a relay node for other systems such as 802.11o present to EC both proposals, i.e. Extended PAR and a new PARo Modify the current Draft contexts but keep the PAR as is. o Must be cautious if claim Portable as the previous Drafts didnt mention it. o Include both Mode-II and Mode-I o If make it P to P? Some problems need to be resolved! o Draft states CPE needs professional installed; if base station detects that CPE moves, then disconnect the communication those need to be amended. o Goal: 802.22 can handle R&O defined portable TVBDs but will not slow down the current 802.22 progress. o Phased Approacho Clarify PAR to include the R&O portableso 2 options: (1) Extend the current PAR or clarify the current PAR to include potable TVBDs (2) New PAR o The current 802.22 is still in drafting stage and the draft can be modified if PAR allows. PAR didnt specify those functionality requirement such as 10 meters height antenna, professional installation etc. o Strategy: chairs call 802.22 Portable uniqueness (= current 802.22 PAR uniqueness + new)o Cognitive no objection o Well considered incumbent protection no objectiono Optimal design for VHF/UHF controversial and need to be further proved o Preamble, CP, pilots etc. designs agree and strong disagree! Not good for power saving mode for portable TVBDs. No multiple antennas capabiity yet!o Bandwidth fitness: 802.22 is so far unique: others are not yet: They either will waste spectrum or have to be re-designed for 6, 7 and 8 MHz. No agreement yet! o Sensing capability? o Breaking the LAN-WAN barrier? 3 action items Gerald will further take lead to study the feasibility to extend the current .22 PAR to include portable TVBD. Wendong, Victor, Winston and Robert and the team will help to identify the details of what have to modify Issues need to resolve. If necessary, new contributions need to be called Contexts in the current draft that exclude the portable TVBDs Continue to enrich the document Robert further consults .22 seniors and document the
