In my last year in office, I will not waiver and carry out my duties and will remain true to my conviction. I will always be with the people.B: I have served as the premier for nine years. They have been nine difficult but momentous years. I often feel that much work remains to be finished; many things have yet to be properly addressed, and there are many regrets.A: I know full well that all power of the government comes from the people and every piece of the work that I have done for the people during my term of office is only a fulfillment of my due responsibilities. I will continue to make my upmost efforts to serve the people to make up for the shortfall of my work with new achievements and to win peoples understanding and forgiveness. A: But Antonapoulos was so busy checking over the various items in his lunch box that for a while he paid no attention. Just before the bus pulled away from the curb he turned to Singer and his smile was very bland and remote as though already they were many miles apart.B: The weeks that followed didnt seem real at all. All day Singer worked over his bench in the back of the jewelry store, and then at night he returned to the house alone. More than anything he wanted to sleep.A: As soon as he came home from work he would lie on his cot and try to doze a while. Dreams came to him when he lay there half-sleep. He had learned to talk with his hands and to read. Then finally he had been taught to speak.A: At the school he was thought very intelligent. He learned the lessons before the rest of the pupils. It was not natural to him, and his tongue felt like a whale in his mouth.B: From the blank expression on peoples faces to whom he talked in this way he felt that his voice must be like the sound of some animal or that there was something disgusting in his speech. A: It was painful for him to try to talk with his mouth , but his hands were always ready to shape the words he wished to say. When he was 22 he had come south to this town from Chicago and he met Antonapoulos immediately. B: Since that time he had never spoken with his mouth again, because with his friend there was no need for this. A: Nothing seemed real except the ten years with Antonapoulos. In his half-dreams he saw his friend very vividly , and when he wakened a great aching loneliness would be in him.B: Occasionally he would pack up a box for Antonapoulos, but he never received any reply. Well ,learning English is like living our life ,with bitter and sweet we are growing up day by day.B:英语学习的时间到了，学习英语正如我们的生活，伴着苦和乐我们每天都在成长。A:大家都知道，英语是一种重形合语言，常常运用各种有形、明确的连接手段来表达清晰的语义关系和严密的逻辑关系。因此，若能通过这些链接手段把握长难句的逻辑关系，梳理其语义上要强调的重点，便可以快速剔除不重要的信息，准确抓住主要信息的含义。B:常见的逻辑关系不外乎以下几种：并列关系、顺序关系、递进关系、因果关系、条件关系、转折关系和让步关系。下面我们来看一个例句:Despite the fact that rockets had been used sporadically for several years, they remained a relatively minor artifact of civilization until the twentieth century.这句话看上去比较冗长，生词也较多，但我们可以通过信号词Despite 快速判断出这句话两个分句间的逻辑关系为转折关系。所以不难判断出这句话的后半句：they remained a relatively minor artifact of civilization until the twentieth century，才是这句话的核心。A:由此看来，要快速理解长难句的主要含义，我们可以通过信号词理清句子的逻辑关系，之后通过逻辑关系判断句子成分孰轻孰重，最后抓住句子的主干内容。下面我们再看一句。 Yet , even if Americas trash output continues to rise as it has done in the past, and even if the American population doubles by 2100, all the rubbish America produces through the entire 21st century will still take up only one-12000th of the area of the entire United States.B: 同样是长句，但是很明显这里表示句子逻辑关系的信号词是even if，这句话的重点很容易就“浮出水面”了。第一个even if 表示它所在的分句表达的是让步关系；而第二个even if出现在表示并列关系的and 之后，表明前两个分句为并列的让步句。由此可知，该句的重点应该是all the rubbish America produces through the entire 21st century will still take up only one-12000th of the area of the entire United States.大意是：美国在整个21世纪所产出的垃圾总量只占到其整个领土的1.2万分之一。A: 通过语法现象我们同样可以排除很多干扰，在名词性从句中，相信同位语从句对于大家来说会显得有些陌生。同位语从句的形式和定语从句相似，两者都是由先行词引导，但它们与先行词的关系不同：同位语从句与先行词是同为或等同的关系：定语从句与先行词则是修饰关系。音乐起5sB:那么下面我们来看一个句子：Although the language of “right” sometimes leads to confusion, by the late 1970s it was recognized in most societies that people have a right to health-care.这句话中的信号词although表明这句话的逻辑关系为转折关系，由此我们可将重点放在后半句话上。其中it was recognized in most societies that people have a right to health-care这里的it充当形式主语，而句子真正主语为that 引导的主语从句。因此这一从句不难看出是同位语从句，分析到这里后半句话要传达的意思就不难理解了。A:再说说插入语的问题。插入语是英文中一个很常见的语言现象。插入语通常指插在句子中的一个词、短语或句子，其被逗号、破折号等隔开，与句子的其他部分之间没有语法上的关系。插入语可以表达说话者的态度和看法，起到强调或引起注意的作用，也可以用来转移话题或连接上下文，使句子的衔接更加紧密。而在考试中，插入语则更像是一个障眼法，如果不能识别这一成分，就可能在分析句子主干时陷入“乱花渐入迷人眼”的境地。B:因此为了掌握插入法的形式和用法，快速识别这一绊脚石，将长难句化简为繁，抓住其主干。下面我们再看一个句子。Although Gutman admits that forced separation by sale was frequent , he shows that the slaves preference , revealed most clearly on plantations where sale was infrequent, was very much for stable monogamy.同样是转折句，我们发现he shows that the slaves preference是一个不完整的句子，其中the slaves preference是that 引导的宾语从句的主语，但系动词was 并未紧随主语，为我们理解句子结构制造了障碍。其实revealed most clearly on plantations where sale was infrequent在句中并不充当任何成分，只是一个“混淆视听”的插入语而已，理解句意时可以忽略这一成分，这样一来句子主干部分的意思就很容易理解了。A: 当然同学们想全面攻克长难句中的语法难点，还需要夯实语法基础，对定语从句、状语从句、倒装句、省略句、主谓一致以及平行结构等进行深层次的理解。B:而彻底攻克长难句，需要从宏观上把握句子的逻辑关系，去轻存重，从微观上理解句子。这最重要一步的任务可简单概括为三点：抓住句子主干，分析主要信息，提炼句意。A:下面我们再来看一个句子。Behaviorists suggest that the child who is raised in an environment where there are many stimuli which develop his or her capacity for appropriate responses will experience greatly intellectual development.这个句子看起来比较复杂，但不难辨认主语为behaviorists ，谓语是紧随其后的动词suggest，并与则是一个宾语从句。B:而在这个宾语从句中不难发现主语是the child，而唯一一个动词experience无疑就是整个宾语从句的谓语动词了，其后的intellectual development显然就是宾语从句的宾语。分析到这里，句子的主干也就出现了，Behaviorists suggest that the child will experience greatly intellectual development。A:总的来说，要做到彻底实现长难句的掌握需要大家对逻辑关系的充分理解，去轻存重；对语法现象的分析，排除语法现象的干扰；拎出句子的主谓宾，透析句意。以上三点大家多加练习，相信在阅读理解或是个人写作中都会大有裨益的。插歌：mad-noye Movie Salon【片花】背景音乐： 莫扎特-小星星变奏曲A:Movie Salon here.
