The analysis of the students Students have obtained the basic usage of English and they can use what they learned to express what they want in some real situation. Teaching objectivesAt the end of the class, 1. Students are able to understand and grasp the usage of these key words& phrases and sentences Words&phrases: with excitement, fall over, die from ,illness, endangered, government;2. Students are able to get some reading skills (skimming for the main idea, scanning for the key points, ) and improve their reading abilities3. How much do you know about the pandas 3. Did you see pandas?Aims: It is mainly to help students express their basic understanding of pandas.Step3: While reading1. SkimmingActivity1: skim for the information of pandas 1) What do they look like? 2) Where do they live? 3) What do they eat?Activity2: skim and match each paragraph with main ideaAims: it is mainly to help students read and get the useful information as quickly as possible2. Scanning Activity1: Scan for para1-2 and finish the following questions1) Whats Lin Weis job?2) What can she do for the pandas?3) Are pandas a symbol of China? Why?Activity2: Scan for para3 and look for the meaning of these numbers(12,10,2000,300)Aims: it is mainly to help students read and look for the key information under the help the key verbs 3.
