They are in Grade 5. Most students are interesting in learning with positive attitude and strong ability to accept new things. The topic of this unit is food, its one content of the student prefer. I will start from what students interested in. Let them to participate actively in the learning practice.【Teaching Objectives】1. Language Knowledge1)Understand vocabularies: tomato,tofu,green beans,fish,potato,eggplant, cabbage, mutton, pork.2)Understand patternsWhatwouldyoulikeforlunch?I d like sometofu.3)Understand some meat and vegetables.2. Language Skills1) Be able to use sentences to communicate with others.2) Be able to listen, speak, read and write the new words.3) Be able to use the words make new sentences.3. Affect1) Learning how to cook from your parents.2) Keep good eating habits.4. Cultural understand1) Know the most common drink and food in English-speaking countries.2) Know the dietary habits of the minority nationalities.【Teaching Methods】1. Communicative method2. The game teaching method3. Situational teaching method4. Cooperative learning method【Key Points】1. Vocabularies: tomato,tofu,green, beans,fish,potato,eggplant, cabbage, mutton, pork2. Can use the sentences in the dialogue, can replace the word in the sentence.【Difficult Points】There are many vocabularies and some of the words are not easy to student. Tomato and potato is easy to confusion; eggplant is longer than others; the pronunciation of cabbage is difficult for student; pork and mutton, easy to mix.【Teaching Aids】1.Picturesoffood 2.Wordcards3.Radioandtapes【Teaching Procedures】 Step1: warm up Present the pictures about food then ask the students: Whats this? Do you like it? What would you like for lunch? Recite the words about food. Help the student to recall the food words they had learned. Step2: previewGuessing game .For example: Im yummy to eat. Im yellow and long. I grow on tree .My name begins with the letter as “B”. What am I?Ask the students to give the riddle an answer in Lets start. Prepare to learn the new word.Step3: PresentationandpracticeShow a video that Amy go to vegetable market to buy food, Let the students listen, and then talk about what Amy buy.Amy : I like tomatoes .How much are they?Salesperson: They are 3 Yuan.Amy: What about green beans?Salesperson: Its 4 Yuan.Amy: Potatoes are big. How much are they?Salesperson: They are 2 Yuan.Amy: The cabbages are green .How much are they?Salesperson: They are 1 Yuan.Amy: Whats it?Salesperson: Its eggplant. Its 5 Yuan.Amy: I want to buy some pork .O, its 15 Yuan. Its expensive. Maybe I can buy some fish .How much is the fish?Salesperson: Its 9 Yuan.Amy: What about tofu? Salesperson: 2 Yuan.Amy: OK, Ill take some fish and tofu. Oh, where is my wallet? I put it off at home.Then show another video, to find out what Amy want to eat.Waiter: What would you like for lunch? Amy: Id like some tofu and fish. Waiter: Anything else? Amy: Yes, Id like some mutton, please. Waiter: Ok, wait a minute.Teacher show word cards and teach new words. Step4: activitiesDivide into groups of six children each one would finish asking and answering the printed form, whats your favorite food, and why? Then find out which group finishes faster.Make an advertisement for the food you like to the class.Step5: homework1. Collect the word about food2. Find out whats your parents favorite food?
