However, their reading skills still need guiding and improving. So teachers should always remember to provide them some strategies when teaching knowledge.At the same time, since Ss like to discuss in groups when they have difficulties, teachers should also allow Ss to learn by cooperating.Next, I want to tell you about the third part.Part Teaching MethodsI think good teaching methods are the keys to success. In this lesson, Ill mainly use the “task-based” teaching method, and it will be used in the whole lesson. I think its helpful to develop the Ss thoughts. Ill also use “Co-operation” method. It can help the Ss to learn from others. Of course, Ill use Multimedia teaching method to draw Ss interests.Would you mind listening to my teaching procedures?Part Teaching ProceduresIt includes seven steps: Lead-in, Pre-reading, While-reading ,Post-reading, Extension, Summary, Leveled homeworkStep 1 Lead-inAs we know, interest is the best teacher, In order to attract the Ss attention , Ill begin my class with some pictures about different hopes and dreams to lead in to the topic. And give them one question: What are the differences between hopes and dreams? The purpose is to arouse the Ss interests to talk.I design this step because I think interest is a powerful driving force to encourage the Ss to learn. Its important to interest Ss at the beginning of the class, and its also necessary to provide a background information to lead in new knowledge .Step 2 Pre-readingDuring this step, Ill show Ss key vocabulary first, (.)Then ask them to learn by studying in groups, next, read together in order to remember them. After that, Ill help them understand the “Learning strategies on the book: Reading with focus. (Adjust the speed you read according to the amount of detail; Underline key points as you read; Read faster the second time. Tell Ss to use the proper reading strategies to achieve the reading tasks.I design this step for the following purpose: Before reading, the teacher should help Ss to get rid of some difficulties. They need to prepare in two aspects. One is the preparation of language points, the other is the preparation of topic.Step 3 While-readingTask 1 Skimming: Get the main idea of passage .Task 2 Scanning: Judge “T” or “F”.Task 3 Carefully reading: Get more details of paragraphs.Task 4 Group work : Talk about the phrases and sentences in groups.While reading, Task-based teaching method is used here to develop the Ssreading skills including skimming and scanning. Tell students to use proper reading strategies to achieve the reading tasks.Now, its my specific design. In this step, Ill give Ss a question first: What does the passage mainly talk about? By this step, Ss can get the main idea of the passage as soon as possible. And then ask them to judge T or F, next, tell them to read the passage after the recorder, next, tell Ss to get more details of paragraphs by achieving different tasks(answering the questions, filling in the charts and filling in the missing words). Finally, ask Ss to talk about the phrases and sentences in groups. If Ss have difficulties ,they can solve them together. In this step, Ss can fully understand the main idea of the passage from paragraph to paragraph.Step 4 Post-readingTask 1 Retelling : Retell the passage .Since retelling is quite a hard job for Ss, I plan to design a form to help Ss. This step aims to improve studentslogical thinking ability. It can also train students ability of expression.Step 5 ExtensionShare dreamsThis step aims to develop Sscreative thinking. Ss can also use English as much as possible in class. Its necessary for Ss to make new things to enrich the knowledge they learnt.Step 6 SummaryEncourage students to sum up what they have learnt. It can train their expressive ability.Step 7 Leveled homeworkThis homework can make different leveled students choose their homework freely. Group work helps students learn to work with each other to solve the problems more easily. They also learn to share their good ideas with each other.Knowledge is very important, but not everything. I think emotion-al education is necessary.
