Unit 2 Is this your pencil?Lesson 1 In this lesson, students will learn how to ask about “is this your pencil ?”. It has a close connection with our daily life. So we can put this part into our daily intercommunication scene easily.There are about 50 students in my class, one third of them can pronounce a word correctly after reading after the teacher twice. 4 of them are slow learning.According to my students, I will use ESA style to teach this lesson. E means engage. S means study. And A means activate. This style will help us to cement class teaching with real daily scenes. According to the key sentence “Is this your pencil ?” ?”, I will design some teaching task and activities to carry out the communication between the teacher and the students and the communication among the students themselves. Teaching procedure:1. engage I will show a pencil . There are many things on the desk , but I dont whose things are they . What shall I do ?Maybe some students will tell me to ask themMaybe some students will speak out the sentence “Is this your pencil ?”Then ask the students “ can you find its owner ?” and “can you do this in English?” And tell the students, today after this class, they will be able to do this in English2. study I will show the students a picture on Page 7. Then I will show the student how to pronounce these words correctly, and how to use “” Is this your pencil ? ? and its answer “Its ” 3. activate (1) According to the words on the left on Page 4.Students will find the right things in the picture.(2) will play the tape, ask the students to do 1b.(3) Dialogue practicing First let the students look at the exampleIs this your pencil ?No, it isnt.Is this your pencil ?Yes, it is.Then ask them to practice dialogues with their partners, using the news words in 1a (4) ask the students to show their dialogues.4. homework : write the new words and practicing the dialogueLesson two1. engage The teacher will design a scene to the students . suppose you want to know the owner of sth, what will you say ?2 study I will show the students 1 pictures.In the first picture ,there is a child and a girl They are talking about sthIs this your pencil ?No, it isnt.Is this your pencil ?Yes, it is.Ask students to practice the dialogue 4. activate (1)practicing dialoguesFirst, the teacher makes a dialogue with a student as a model Is this your pencil ?No, it isnt.Is this your pencil ?Yes, it is.Here your are Thank you Then ask the students to make the same kind of dialogues.Last ask some students to show their dialogues.(2) listening practiceplay the tape ask the students to do 2a and 2 b(3)doing some exercises I will show a picture. Ask the students to fill in the blanks with whatsI will show the picture of the boy again. Let the student fill in the blanks with nice to meet you. 5.
