Teaching procedures:Step 1 Warm upEveryday English: If you study in an active way instead of a passive way, you are sure to make a big progress!As we know, not every student can get the chance to enter the senior high school. As a Grade Nine student, do you think the study is very tiring and boring or relaxing and interesting? Try to study in an active way instead of a passive way, you are sure to make a big progress. Attitude determines everything.Step 2 Lead inTeacher: There are two voices in English grammar, that is, active voice and passive voice. In this lesson, well discuss the passive voice.Step 3 Pre-task preparationl Teacher explains the definitions of active and passive voices.l Because the verb forms of passive voice is be and past participle of verbs, it is essential to remember regular and irregular forms of past participles of verbs.Step 4 While-task proceduresl First tell the students the rules of changing from active voice into passive voice. Then show the differences between the verbs in these two voices in different tenses.Task 1: Rewrite the sentences using the passive voicesl Then discuss some special examples with students. For example, intransitive verbs have no passive voice.Task 2: Do choice problems.Task 3: Do T F problems.Step 5 Post-task activities Task 4: Using different tenses and voices to fill in the blanks in a passage. It is used for the students to get a clearer understanding about the differences between active voice and passive voice in different tenses. In addition, foster the students moral goals such as being confident about themselves and being a volunteer to help others.Task 5: Try some true English problems examined before about passive voice.In this lesson, we talked about the passive voice.
