Unit 8 When is your birthday? (1a-2e)科目:初中英语教学对象:七年级学生课时:第一课时授课教师: 蒋梦菲一、教学内容分析本节课选自人教版 Go for it!七年级上第八单元第一课时,主要的目的是帮助学生学习并掌握1-12个月份,以及1-31的序数词和序数词变化规律。同时,在此基础上,询问他人的生日,谈论时间。最后,让学生通过讨论合作,询问父母的生日以及能为父母做些什么,由此达到情感教育的目的。二、教学目标1.Language focusStudents will be able to use the following words and phrases in given situations and daily life: January, February,etc; first, second to thirty-first; When is your/his/her birthday?2. Language skillsStudents will be able to ask about birthdays and and invite others to a birthday party.3. Learning strategies?Students willbe able to find out the rules of ordinal numbers by the method of induction;Students will learn by thinking themselves and discussing with classmates.4. AffectionStudents will be able to know it is important to memorize their friendsand family membersbirthdays.三、学习者特征及教材分析学习者特征:本节课的授课对象是初一学生,相对而言比较活跃。学生已经对于相关的知识有所涉及,且学生程度较好,教学难度相对较小。同时“生日”这个话题贴近学生生活,学生对于本节课甚至本单元的内容和活动设计都比较感兴趣。但是,由于借班上课,老师和学生之间缺乏熟悉度,在指令的理解和学习习惯上对于双方都有一定的挑战。教材分析:本节课的教学材料选自人教版 “Go for it”Unit 8 When is your birthday? 内容包括12个月份单词和1-31的序数词等词汇的掌握,以及“When is your birthday? My birthday is on_.”的句型操练。综合学生的实际水平和本节课的设计需要,教师对教材进行了整合与改编。教学设计上将1a和2a整合到一起,也就是将月份和序数词放到一起学习,并且删除了跟读练习,改为学生读,教师针对朗读情况进行纠音。1c和2d的对话操练适当改编,改成通过游戏操练相应短语和句型。四、教学策略选择与设计本节课以学生为本,充分考虑学生的年龄特点和心理特点,活动的设计不仅仅能够让学生充分 参与活动,同时也能让学生在活动中询问他人、父母的生日,并为朋友的生日派对准备食物和礼物。本节课由月份、序数词到日期,再到句型、句型拓展和对话语篇,由易到难,循序渐进。五、教学重点及难点1. 听、说、读、写1-12月份、序数词,掌握月份日期的读法和写法。2. 能运用本讲内容询问他人生日,谈论日期。3. 理解并正确运用happy birthday, how old are you, do you want to come to my birthday party, see you等语篇中的短语和句型。六、教学过程教师活动学生活动设计意图Step1.Lead-in。(1) sing a song: The month.(2) What day it is?/Whats the date today?/Whats today?/Whats tomorrow? Look at the calendar and answer the questions.(1)由The month 歌曲引入,活跃课堂氛围,调动学生学习的兴趣,拉近与学生的距离。(2)询问日期导入,自然引入到明天是Alans birthday的主题。Step2. Presentation(1)When is New Years Day?It is on _.January is the _ month of the year.Womens Day; May Day; Childrens Day; Armys Day; Teachers Day; National Day; Christmas Day;(2) Lets play a game:choose a cake and you will get different tasks. a. I say January and you say February.b. I say January and you say January is the first month of the year.c. Choose a piece of paper and speak out the birthday.Eg:Mandys birthday is on December 3rd.(1) Ss are divided into three teams and do the task by competition. After the student says out the answer, the class read after the teacher about the 12 months.(2) The teacher says January and one student says February, and then the next student says March. The teacher stops in the middle and continue with another month.The teacher says January and one student says January is the first month of the year. The teacher chooses one month and the student should say out the answer quickly.One student chooses a piece of paper prepared before the class. On one side of the paper is birthday, and the other side is the name of a student.本环节首先通过节日呈现12个月份,月份在句型中呈现,培养学生的句型和语篇意识。月份教学中穿插音标跟读,培养学生的语音意识。接下来以游戏为载体,以三个小组的竞赛为形式,对月份和1-12的序数词进行巩固,第三个活动让学生说句型,为下一个环节的句型提前预热。Step 3. Listen 1b and check the answers. When is Alans friendsbirthdays? Lets listen and number:When is Landas birthday?When is Marys birthday?When is Mikes birthday?1、Listen and number2、Teacher asks When is his/her birthday? And students answer His/Her birthday is on_. 通过听力检查学生的听力能力;通过听力材料的转述,巩固日期的知识点,同时为下一个听力When is his/her birthday? His/Her birthday is on_.预热。由于本步骤所要填的单词已在前面的教学步骤中有所涉及,因此对于各个层次的学生而言都比较容易。Step 4. Lets play a game.Train game: remember as much as you can.A: When is your birthday?B: My birthday is on_.When is your birthday?C: My birthday is on_.Other students take notes and write down their birthdays. Eg: Dec. 3rd The students ask and answer from the first student in a row to the last student and other students take notes.通过游戏,在听力之后进行句型操练,实现语言输出。同时,这也是一种对其他同学的听力训练。听力之后教师问“Is his birthday on_?/Whose birthday is in January?/ When is his/her birthday?”,从而拓展相关句型,让学生句型拓展进行感知。Step 5. ListeningNow I know your birthdays, and Alans teacher, Mr. Smith also wants to know his students birthdays. Now lets listen and match the names and the birthdays of the students.1. Listen and match.2. Boys ask “when is xxxs birthday?”, and girls answer “His/Her birthday is on. .”3. How to ask “When is your birthday?” in another way? What is the date of your birth?/ When were you born?After the listening, the students give the answer by asking and answering: Boys ask and girls answer.听力之后,学生通过男女问答的形式进行答案校对,既校对了答案,又操练了句型。相关句型的拓展,适当增加课堂难度和深度,让程度好的学生在原有基础之上进行得到新知识的拓展。Step 6. Role-play1. Boys read Bill, and girls read Alan. 2. Read again and answer the four questions: How old is Alan? How old is Bill? When is Bills birthday? When is Alans birthday party? 3. Group work:Team 1: Talk about the food for Alans birthday.Team 2: Talk about the gift for Alans birthday.Team 3: Talk about what you can do for your parents birthdays.1. Students read the dialogue and know general meaning of the dialogue. 2. Through answering the four questions, students can learn how to find the details.3. Try to learn how to express their own ideas by discussion.这一环节主要是培养学生的英语语言输出能力,通过阅读一篇短对话,回答相关的细节问题,培养简单的阅读能力。同时,在小组活动中,每一小组分到不同的任务,既有对事物喜好这一主题的复习,也有对于购物这一话题的巩固。此外,询问父母生日并能为他们做什么,是对本节课重点句型的回顾,也是本节课情感的提升询问并关心他人的生日。学生仿照该篇对话,进行模仿并适当创新,形成自己的语篇。Step7. ConclusionIs anyones birthday today?Whose birthday is in November?Lets sing “Happy birthday to you” together.By asking the students birthdays, combine the topic of birthday to students real life. Students will learn the true meaning and importance of birthdays.结尾将本节课的话题生日与学生实际相结合。生日不仅仅是本节课的学习话题,也是与我们每个人息息相关。唱生日歌给本月生日的同学,让学生体会生日对我们的重要性,及生日带给我们的温暖。七、教学评价设计1、本课从月份,到序数词,到日期,到基本句型,再到句型拓展,最后形成语篇输出,由易到难,层层递进,序数词的规律涉及语法,让学生自己通过观察,归纳出基数词变序数词的语法规律。2、 课堂以Alan的生日为主线贯穿,通过Alan的日历呈现一年中的节日以及朋友的生日。在这过程中通过小组竞赛的形式,激发学生思维的活跃度以及参与课堂的积极性;3、以“生日”为话题内容,以师生对话和生生对话为载体,以活动为形式,检测学生运用所学语言的能力。八、板书设计Unit 5 When is your birthday?Period 1 Section A1a-2e 1) When is your birthday? T1 Vs T2 Vs T3It is in + month.It is on + date.2)Whats the date of your birth? 3)When were you born?九教学反思本节课的教学重点主要是让学生能够掌握12个月份的拼读以及顺序,1-31 序数词的拼读规律以及基数词变序数词的规律,日期的短语表达和询问他人生日的句型表达。因此在安排以上这些教学重点时,主要还是以兴趣为切入口,通过组间的小竞赛,激发学生学习的积极性。课堂以 “The month” 的英文歌进行简单的课前热身,拉近与学生的距离,使课堂在轻松活跃的气氛中进行。之后通过询问日期,自然过渡到本节课的主题生日。整堂课以Alan的日历为主线,通过Alan的日历呈现一年中的节日,以及他朋友的生日。不管是后面的听力还是对话的展开,都是围绕着ALan的相关情况而展开,从而使得课堂的整体性更加强烈,而且学生对于知识的连贯上也能更好地接受。由于本单元的句型相对简单,本节课的重点是12个月份的掌握和序数词的读写,尤其是不规律的序数词的读写。教师将12个月份和节日相结合,让学生在句型中学习12个月份。如:When is New Years Day? It is on _. January is the _ month of the year. 询问生日和节日有相同的句型结构,让学生从询问节日正迁移到询问生日。同时,序数词的出现让学生明白12个月份的顺序,并提前感知序数词,为后面的学习做铺垫。月份、序数词和日期的学习以小组竞赛的活动形式,激发学生的兴趣。如:I say January, and you say February. I say January, and you say January is the first month of the year. Choose a piece of paper, and say out the students birthday. Train game 等等。在听力以及句型操练之前,通过各种活动学习并巩固日期,为句型的学习打好基础。其他教师的评价和建议:1、本节课的内容安排上有点过多,而
