Pre-listening activities 1. Warming up . Show the students a picture of the earth. T: Whats this? Ss: Its the earth. T: Yes, its our earth. We live on it and we cant leave it. Yes ?But look , The earth is facing many problems! what are the main problems ? Ss: Endangered animals, Pollution ,Desertification, Global warming T:What can you see in the picture? How many kinds of pollution? And how do you feel? What caused these problems?(I can see many kinds of pollution. And I feel sad and worried.)Ask students to answer the questions one by one . 2. Practice. Lets practice the conversation.then make your own conversation and show them to class. 3.Leading in.Teacher ask the question : What should we do to save the earth? Lets learn about it today.4.words learning.Present new words and read them.Step2. Listening Practice 1.Listen for the general idea (2a-2b) T: Boys and girls, just now we knew the river near Marks home is polluted. Look ! This is Jason, and this is Susan.They are also talking about environmental problems. The reporter is interviewing them. What kinds of pollution are they talking about? 2.Listen for the specific ideas T: Can you find out the specific ideas for the conversation? Before you listen, please read the sentences carefully and pay attention to the words in purple.3.Language points Present listening material,and explain the language points.Step3. Pair work2c.
