Improving studentsreading and comprehension skills.三、教材分析及学生分析1. 教材分析This class is about Mid-Autumn Festival in Section A 3a of Unit 2 in Grade 9. By studying this part, I will enable the students to know the basic knowledge about the festival and how people celebrate it. Besides, I will introduce other festivals around the world. If students learns well, they will learn how to give a personal reaction and know more about different cultures all over the world.2. 学生分析The students will be interested in this part, because the topic is related to our real life. And after studying, they will make great progress in reading, speaking and writing.四、教学方法The multimedia method and cooperative approach. The teacher will give students some time to read the passage individually and finish the task in pairs. Greetings.T: Good morning, class.Ss: Good morning, teacher.T: Welcome back to my class.Step2 Talk about Mid-Autumn Festival设计意图:通过图片引出中秋节,让学生感受中国传统的节日-圆圆的月亮,深深的情。将学生带入中秋节的氛围中去。Learn the new words and phrases学习单词和词组 goddess 女神 steal (stole,stolen)偷 whoever谁sit in the garden 花园 lay out 摆放 fruit and dessert /diz:t/ 甜食admire the moon 欣赏 have the tradition of eating mooncakes 传统 in the shape of a full moon 呈的形状There are many traditional folk stories about it. /fuk/ 民间故事The story of Change is the most touching. 最感人的设计意图:然后在情境中学习一些新的单词。让学生在阅读前理解并记忆单词,减少阅读中的障碍。Step3. Fast Reading Read 3a quickly and answer the questions:1.How do people celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival?By admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families. 2.What story is the reading about? A traditional folk story of Change.设计意图:快速阅读,让学生大体理解文章的意思。然后回答短文前的两个问题,考察学生对于课文的初步理解,训练学生阅读理解和归纳的能力。Step4 Careful Readinga. However, most people think that the story of Change is the most touching.1) the story of Change is the most touching是宾语从句,关联词是that。2) 第一个most是“大多数”之意,第二个most在touching前面构成最高级。3. Whoever drank this could live forever. 无论谁喝了这个都会长生不老。1)whoever意为“无论谁,不管什么人”。类似的词有:whatever意为“无论什么”,whenever意为“无论何时”,wherever意为“无论在哪里”,however意为“无论怎样”。它们等同于“no matter + wh”结构。 可引导让步状语 从句或名词性从句。2).Whoever did it, I didnt.不管这事是谁干的,反正不是我干的。同义句:No matter who did it, I didnt.4. Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night. Translate: 后羿是如此伤心以至于他每晚都向着月亮喊她的名字so. . . that的用法1)The hall is so big that it can hold five hundred people. (=The hall is big enough to hold five hundred people. )2)She was so excited that she couldnt say a word. (=She was too excited to say a word. )她太激动了, 以至于一句话也说不出来。当主句主语与从句主语一致, 且从句为_肯定时, so. . . that可以与enough to_结构相互转换。 当结果状语从句表_否定_意义时, 可与too.to_结构相互转换。学以致用:1.Li Na is_D_famous_all the tennis fans in China know her. He is so tired that he cant walk on .(同义句) = He is too tired to walk on.设计意图:让学生明白so. . . that的用法。观察与思考并且能够学以致用。Step4 After reading1 3b Read the passage again. Put the events in the correct order. _ Pang Meng tried to steal the medicine._ A goddess thanked Hou Yi by giving him magic medicine._ Change refused to give Pang Meng the medicine and drank it all. 1 Hou Yi shot down the nine suns and saved the people on the earth._ Hou Yi was very sad and watched the moon at night, and wished his wife could come back._ As a result, Change became light and flew up to the sky._ Hou Yi planned to drink the medicine with his wife.Answers: 4 2 5 1 7 6 32 3C Try to complete the sentences with the correct words.Let students come to the blackboard and write the answers on it.Then check the answers.1.
