T: Do you like sunny day? Why?Ask a few students to answer.Step Presentation. Learn attributive clauses with that, which and the target language. 1. Show a picture on the screen. T: Whats the weather like in the picture? Ss: Its snowy. T: Yes, the weather is snowy. Then show the sentence “The weather is snowy.” on the right of the screen.T: Do you like the weather?Ss: Yes.Then show the sentence “I like the weather.” on the left of the screen.Say, We can also say “I like the weather that is snowy. Then show this sentence below the former two sentences on the screen. Let the students know how to transform two sentences into a relative clause with that. Ask student to pay attention to “is”.2. Show pictures of a bag and a dog one by one, use the same teaching method above to impress relative clauses with that.3. Show a piece of music with lyrics from The Blue and White Porcelain. T: How great the lyrics are! Do you think so? Ss: Yes. Show the new word “lyric” on the screen, then ask students to read after the teacher. T: Whats the Chinese meaning of lyric, do you know?Ask a student to answer. Then add, lyrics mean words. Show “words” on the screen.T: And whats the meaning of great lyrics? Show “great lyrics” on the right of the screen. Help students to know.T: Do you like the music? Why?Ss: Yes. Because it has great lyrics Say, We can say ”I like music that has great lyrics”, show the sentence on the screen. Ask students to pay attention to “that” and “has”, then ask them to read the sentence after the teacher. Say, We can also say ”I like music which has great lyrics”, show “which” below “that” on the screen, ask students to pay attention to it, then ask them to read the relative clauses with which several times.4. Show two pieces of music from Castle in the Sky and Titanic one by one, Use the same teaching method above to learn phrases “isnt too loud” and “quiet and gentle”, and impress the relative clauses with that and which.5. Show two video clips from Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf and Grateful Heart one by one. Ask students to sing along with the music or dance to the music. Use the same teaching method above to learn phrases “sing along with” and “dance to”, and impress relative clauses with that and which.6.
