Go for it! 七(下)Unit 6 Im watching TV.Section A Period One(1a-1c)Teaching DesignTypes of lesson: Listening and Speaking Lesson一Analysis of the teaching material The topic of this unit is to talk about people are doing. Students will learn Present progressive tense .And compare simple present tense and the present progressive tense .Accoding to rulesand write the ing form ,sucu as play playing ,make making, swim- swimming. Curriculum words : newspaper,soupuseful words :read a newspaper ,soup From these everyday activities,we know that the topic of this unit is to talk about what people are doing. Using the teaching material 1a of page31,we can see a typical apartment block,with nine apartments labeled a-i.A car and a mailbox can be seen outside the apartment block.Inside each apartment,people are doing different things.The person in apartment a is talking on the telephone to the person in apartment i.He asks,“What are you doing?”and the person responds,“Im watching TV.”The people in the other apartments are cleaning,reading a newspaper,listening to a CD,using a computer,making soup,washing the dishes,and exercising.For all of this,we know that this Unit we will be going to learn Present progressive tense. The drills of asking and answering are very important “what (are you/they)(is he/she)(am I) doing?” “Im/She(He)(xxx ) is/We(They) are watching TV.”In Section A. We should learn to compare the simple present tense and the present progressive tense)Shes exercising(now). “Am I watching TV?”“Yes,you are.”Yes/No questions and short answers She exercises(On Mondays/every night/in the morning). Using the teaching material 1b of page31,we know the purpose of this part is to help Ss recognize the target language in natural speech.The names must be the difficult point.So,I design before 1b,have Ss close their textbooks and listen to the recording.Ask Ss to write down all the names they hear. This skill make it easier when they open their books and listen again to try and identify what each person is doing. Using the teaching material 1c of page31,we know the purpose of this part is to help Ss use the target language in natural speech.Try this challenging activity to test Ss memories and question/answer skills.二Analysis the Ss: They have learned the Present Progressive Tense in the primary school,they need to learn this deeper than before now. According to Ss different knowledge levels,I designed different learning aims.Most of Ss need to learn to listen、speak、read and write. A few top ones not only learn the four skills but also learn to master the concluded ability of Present Progress Tense.三Teaching aims: 1.Knowledge goals:Important and difficult words、phrases and sentences.What am I doing? I am singing. You are singing.What is he doing? He is swimming. He is running. What is she doing? She is talking on the phone.What are they doing? They are making telephone calls? cleancleaning the room readreading a newspaper talktalking on the phonelistenlistening to a CD useusing the computer makemaking soup washwashing the dishes exerciseexercising 2.Ability goals: To train the listening and speaking skills. To train the good study habits: read loudly and clearly speak English as much as possible 3.Moral goals: We should love our lives,we should take more exercise ,we should learn to do some housework, and so on.四Teaching important points: 1.New words: newspaper and soup and so on. 2.New drills: What is he/she doing? What are they doing? He /She is. They are.五Teaching difficult points: Target languages. The drills of the Present Progressive Tense.Tell Ss to pay much attention to “be”,again and again.六Learning methods:Read loudly and clearly.Speak English as much as possible.七Teaching tools:English book, PPT slides, Bb, colorful chalks.八Teaching methods: 1.listening and speaking methods. 2.Pair-work and game. 3.Totally physical response. when I presented the new words and sentence patterns, I should do one of the actions first, then should lead the single student do action one by one. At the same time, I should ask questions like this: -What are you doing? -I am xx.(help he or she to answer) -What is heshe doing?-She/He is xx. (help all the rest of the Ss to answer)(I think that is a useful way to train speaking skills.) 4.I will divide all students into four groups. Four groups will have a competition. If a student can give a correct answer for a question or take part in an activity. I will give him/her one star. At last, which group has the most stars,get the top star.
