Knowledge objects1) Words:tiger, elephant, panda, lion, koala, giraffe, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind, kind of, Australia, south, Africa, South Africa, pet, leg, cat, sleep 2) Sentences: What animals do you/does she/ does he like? Lets see the ? Why do you/does she/ does he want to see ? Because they are . 2. Ability objects To observe and describe animals. To talk about their preferences To know the implied meaning of some animals2. Moral objectsAnimals are our friends. We should protect them.二、Teaching key and difficult points1. Key points:1) To help the Ss to describe the animals2) To learn to express why they like the animals2. Difficult points:(1) How to make dialogues and act them out.(2) How to write the right whole sentences.三、Teaching ProcedureStep 1. Warming-up Enjoy a video about Kungfu Panda. Its about Kungfu Panda. After it, ask students questions about pandas. “Do you like pandas?”Step 2 Lead in Today we will begin a new unit ”Why do you like pandas?” Pandas are cute. What other animals do you know? Show some pictures of animals. List the animals names they know. Then play a game. Enjoy a video about animals. Ask students to write down the animals names on the white board as quickly as possible while watching. Check the answers. There are some new words about animals. Lets learn more new words about animals.Step 3 Presentation Show some pictures of new animals. Teach the new words: Whats this in English? Its a tiger. (Then lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe) Show some other pictures which are related to the animals. Let students guess what it is.Step 4 1aGlue the pictures on the blackboard and ask one student to match the pictures with the words on the cards. Other students turn to page 25 and finish 1a.Check the answers with the class. Ask students to be “Little teacher”. Teach the other students how to read the words.Step 5 Game Time (Guessing game.) Prepare some pictures and show them quickly. If the students know the answers, they can stand up together and say out the answers as soon as they see the pictures. Then read the words together and try to remember them.Step 6 Listening Work on 1b. Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class. Step 7 Pair work 1. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.” Then ask a student to do the model with you: Lets see the lions first. Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?) Because they are interesting. 2. Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the animal in 1a. Step 8 Exercise Do some exercise on the screenStep 9 Homework: 1. Remember the new words and expressions in this period. 2. Role-play the conversation after class. 3. Write the animals names as many as possible in the exercises book. Blac
