Lead-inSing the song Hows the weather ? Step2.PresentationShow some signs of different weather: sunny , rainy, snowy, windy , cloudy. Teach the new words.Like this:T: Whats this?S: Its the sun. (read the new word sun)T: Hows the weather?S: Its sunny. ( read the new word sunny) (In the same way, finish teaching the words rain ,rainy; cloud, cloudy; snow, snowy; wind, windy). Then look at the words and let the students sum up the rules : how to change nouns into adjectives.Step3 Pair-workShow some pictures. Ask students to talk about them in pairs.A: Hows the weather?/Whats the weather like?B: Its sunny.A: What are they doing?B: They are running.Give students 3 minutes to practice and then act it out .Step4.Listening 1b. Listen and write the names of the cities in the boxes above. Play the tape twice and students get the answers.(Before listening,show pictures of the five cities and teach the places. Get students to familiar with these cities.)Step5 Pair workImagine you are in one of these cities. Talk about the weather with your partner on the Phone. Choose several groups t o act out their dialogues.Step 6 Weather reportShow a map of China. Ask students to talk about the weather in big cities.Imitate the weather reporter . Lets compare who is the best reporter.Step7.Show some sayings about the weather. Ask students to discuss the meaning of them. Its raining cats and dogs.Save for a rainy dayCloud nineHead in the cloud Weather fair friend.If students have trouble , help them.Step 8 Homework.Listen to todays weather report. Write down the westher in some cities. Then give a report.S
