Unit7 Section B (2a-2c) 黄 芳 湖北省荆州市石首市大垸镇中学一:Teaching aims1.language goals1)words and expressionsvacation, on (a) vacation, juice, mountain, visit, Canada, summer, soon, Europe, country.2) sentence structureHows it going?/ Hows your summer vacation going? 3)grammarPresent progressive tenseHowquestions2.language skills1)能简单描述人们正在进行的活动。2)能用更丰富的语言问候。3) 能掌握快速阅读获取关键信息的阅读技巧。4) 能写简单的明信片。3、learning stratege1) 看图预测阅读内容。2) 快速阅读获取关键信息。4、情感态度让学生在互联网如此发达的今天感受传统明信片的特殊意义。5、文化意识了解西方人谈论天气的习惯以及西方国家中学生的假期生活,感受文化和地域差异。二:学情分析我所教学的对象是初一学生(以中等生为主),对英语较感兴趣,好奇心强,求知欲较旺盛,他们学习英语既感到好奇又担忧,希望能得到他人的肯定。因此我在教学活动中尽量让他们参与到活动中来,有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感,通过学生间的合作学习,降低他们的学习难度,使他们体验到成功的喜悦。提高他们综合运用语言的能力,使各层次的学生都有所收获。三:重点难点基于上述对教材的分析,我确定本课的教学重点为词汇、阅读技巧、现在进行时的使用和写作能力。教学难点为正确使用现在进行时写一张介绍假期活动的明信片。四:教学过程Task One:【导入】(一)导入新课1. Free talk & Warm up.Talk about the weather and ask the studentswhat they like to do when the weather is good. Thus Ilead to todays topic-vacation.2. Brainstorm.Write down “vacation”on the center of the blackboard and have the students brainstorm anything related to the topic. To make it easier, I can give them an example like “summer vacation”. While the students are coming up with different answers,and lead more words“Canada , country,Europe,countries,climb the mountain,relaxing” I keep asking them questions related to the topic and lead to a few new words from the reading material in 2b.Task Two:【活动】(二)合作交流解读探究 Task 1. Picture reading.Show the students the first picture about vacation from 2a. Ask them some questions about the picture and help them to put their answers into a full sentence to describe the picture. Task 2. Pair work.1. Show the students the other 2 pictures from 2a. Ask them to work in pairs and ask each other questions about the pictures and describe the pictures with or without the help of sentence structures.2 Ask the studentspreferences about the vacations shown in the pictures and encourage them to go for a vacation outdoors rather than indoors. The questions also help to lead to the next task. Task 3. Fast reading.1.Show the students the postcard from Su Lin, ask them to match the postcard with the right picture. Encourage them to finish this task as fast as they can. Afterwards, ask the first student with the right answer to give his or her reasons.Listen to the tape and match the postcards with the pictures.2.Show the students the postcard from Dave with part of the text covered leaving only one word-mountains. Again ask the students to do the match as fast as they can. Introduce key words and its importance. Task 4. Game: Please find.Divide the whole class into 2 teams as Team A and Team B. Explain to them the rules of the game and start the game.Rules:1.Find the words given quickly from 2b and put up your hands.2.You have to read the sentence with the words given as soon as you stand up.This task aims to help the students practice their skill of finding key words. Task 5. Find and underline.To take a step forward, ask the students to find the answers to the following questions and underline them.1. Where are Su Lin and Dave?2. How is the weather?3. What are they doing?4. How do they feel?This helps the students to practice their reading skill and get to learn about the structure of the passage. Task 6. Grow your mind tree.Hand out each student a piece of paper with a form in it. Ask the students to fill in the form with the words or phrases theyve just underlined. Check the answers between teams afterwards. Task 7. Listen, repeat and retell.Play the tape and ask the students to follow. Ask students from different teams to compete and retell the passage according to the mind tree and with the help of the example I give them. Task 8. A postcard to your friend.1.Show the students 5 pictures about my vacation containing the following information: place, weather, activities and feelings. Talk with them about the pictures and make them complete a mind map based on my vacation.2.Ask the students to read the postcard from Su Lin and find out the parts and form of the postcard.3.Have the students work in groups of four. Hand each group with a beautifully hand made postcard and ask them to write a po
