新目标英语七年级上册第七单元第一课时说课稿Unit 7 How much are these pants?Section A- Grammar Focus (Peng Li Yueyang Middle School Baojing County ) Self-introductionHello, everyone! Im Peng Li from Yueyang Middle School , Baojing County. The material I am dealing with today is Unit 7 Section A (from 1a to Grammar Focus).Its from Grade 7 (I) in Go For it! The title is “How much are these pants?”. Ill say the lesson from four parts: 、Analysis of teaching materials 、Teaching methods 、Guide of studying ways 、Teaching procedures.、 Analysis of the teaching materialsA. Status and functionThe main topic of this unit is shopping. Functions are “talking about clothing, asking about prices and thanking someone”. This is a topic that is related to their daily life. So it can raise their learning interests and improve their spoken English. This is the first lesson of this unit. It contains the key vocabulary and target language .So it is important to learn it well.We know, according to the current syllabus, one of the main aims of English teaching in junior middle school is to improve students communicating ability in English. As teachers, we should carry out the spirit of the syllabus in handling the teaching materials. B. Teaching aims and demands The teaching aims and demands are established according to Junior School English syllabus provision and the teaching material.a.Knowledge Objects1.Key vocabulary:howmuch,pants,sock,shirt,Tshirt,shorts,sweater,shoe,skirt,sale, dollar,big,small,short,long.2. Target language: How much is the red sweater? Its eight dollars.How much are these black pants? They re nine dollars.b.Ability ObjectsTo train the students ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. To train students ability of asking prices. Describe the clothing items by using adjectives like red, yellow, big, small and so on. Develop the Ss abilities of communication by learning the useful structures. c.Moral ObjectsTrain the studentsteam spirit and gain appreciation from the experience of team work. Train students enterprising spirit. Arouse Ssinterests and confidence of learning English. C. Teaching ImportanceThe focus of this lesson is the new expressions and help the Ss to communicate with each other by using the target language easily. D. Teaching DifficultiesTo enable the students to use the target language freely and correctly. Do the listening exercises well.E. Teaching Tools Tools I use in this lesson are a computer, a tape recorder, old clothing, school things and so on.、Teaching MethodsThe main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. Ill mainly use the “task-based” teaching method. I think its helpful to develop the Ss thought. Ill also use “situation communicating” method. It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss. Good teaching methods are the keys to success. 、Guide of studying waysOur students have learnt English for only 3 months. They know some English, but some of them didnt learn it well. Especially, most of them are afraid to speak English. For this lesson, the students have known numbers and colors. Half of them can use “be” correctly. I request the students to study English in groups. Each unit in Go for it contains pair work, group work and games. The students who sit at the same table and groups can make a discussion and learn from each other. It makes each student relaxed. They neednt worry about making mistakes. It can arouse students to think and to say what they want to say. Study becomes more relaxing and pleasing in this kind of environment. At the same time, ask Ss to follow the clue ObservationImitationPractice to study language. Enable the Ss to study English language by Communicating. Let the Ss know that conclusions and being good at thinking are necessary to learn English well. 、Teaching procedures The aims can be achieved only by carrying out the carefully designed teaching procedures. So the teaching procedure is arranged in the following way.Step 1. Greetings Great the students as usual.Step 2.Warming upIn order to form a better English surrounding for Ss and attract the Ss attention, Ill begin my class with an English song-Ten little Indian boys. It can warm up the class atmosphere and make it lively. In this way, the students can be “open” to the input. Its a good way to review numbers. It can also help the Ss finish the teaching task of Part2a and 2b more easily. Then review the colors by using color letters.Step3. PresentationTask 1 Memory ChallengeAsk students to learn how to pronounce and spell the key vocabulary by themselves before class. Show them real objects, for example sweaters, shorts, etc. Help them to read the new words. Next play games “Big and Low voice”. Then play games “What is missing?”,using the computer, show them some pictures then disapared quickly . Let them guess what they are. Practice phrases :green hat, yellow sweater,etc. At last show two hats and two sweaters. Teach big, small, long and short. Make sure the students can say like this: it is a long green shirt. Task 2 Guessing the price“How much is the eraser?” Maybe, the students cant understand. I pretend to buy the eraser and take out the money from my pocket. Help him to answer, “Its 1 yuan.”“How much are these two erasers?” “They are 2 yuan.” Show them some pictures of clothing and guess the price. This task is set to practice the sentence pattern: how much is this/ are these? Also, let them know different countries use different money.Let them know 1 dollor=8yuan. Ask and answer to practice the dialogue .Step 4 PracticeTask 1 Listening challengeWe cant neglect listening part as it is a very important skill. Show the pictures and tell the colors and guess the price of the items. Say “lets see if your guesses are right”. Listen to the tape twice and circle the things they hear in 2a and fill in the price tags in 2b. At the same time Ill go around the classroom and help the Ss who have trouble in listening . It can not only help the Ss who have trouble in listening, but also help the teachers go closer to the Ss. Finally, check the answers. Task 2 The best imitatorFollow the tape of 2a and 2b.“Listen and repeat. Then read in pairs. Try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation. Imitation is a good way to learn English well, especially for the beginners. Ask several pairs to share their answers with the whole class.Ta
