Skill aims: (1)Enable students to express their opinion clearly about “Children should or shouldnt do chores” (2)Enable students to give their enough reasons about their opinion. 3.Emotional aims: (1)Respect to parents. (2)Understand the idea of fairness Teaching Key Points Enable students to express their opinion clearly about “Children should or shouldnt do chores,” Teaching Difficult Points Enable students to give their reasons about their opinion. Teaching Methods The activity teaching method ,the cooperative learning method,and the situational teaching method Teaching Aids PPT and blackboard Teaching Procedures Step 1 .Warming-up Talk about “Do you often do chores at home?”with students and show some parents opinion nowadays. Step 2.Do a debate (1) Before the debate Learn some useful phrases which could be used in the debate.Ask students to read them together. Divide 8students into two groups.Pros(Children should do chores at home.)and cons(Children shouldnt do chores at home. (2) During the debate The members of the two groups express their own opinion and give their reasons, The rest of the students must listen to them carefully while the two groups are having their discussions.Then they will vote for the winning group at the end of the debate,and give their reasons. The teacher will do a summary about the opinion of the two groups after the debate and the students will complete the chart about the opinion of pros and cons after the two groups express their opinion . (3) After the debate Other students vote for the group who should win the debate and give their reasons. The students hand up for the winner and the teacher conclude the result of the vote. Step 3 Writing:Write a letter to the Sunday Mail and express the opinion about :Children should or shouldnt do chores at home. (1)Give students enough time to complete the composition. (2)Invite 2 students to show their composition on the blackboard. (3)Comment the two students composition.Correct and improve the composition and underline the beautiful sentences so that other students can learn from them. (4)Enjoy a beautiful article and read it together. Step 4 Homework (1)Correct and improve your composition (2)Offer to help your parents do chores after getting home from now on. (3)Show your appreciate to your parents by saying “Mom and dad,thank you!” Teaching Reflection 本课是关于“孩子们应不应该做家务”的话题写作课,导入时的老师和同学们 的关于自己在家做不做这些家务的谈话激起了学生很大兴趣,接下来的相关词组和 句式的引入也对后期写作做了很好的铺垫,然后在辩论过程中,正反两方同学表现得 也非常好,清楚地白哦打了自己的观点并举出了有力的论据,而此时其他观战的 同学中有一些就摆出了事不关己高高
