Talk about the photos.And let the students answer the question .1. What are the differences of our life now and then?2. Is life better today than in the past?3. Do you feel lucky for living nowadays?Say what life was like in the past and what life is like today. Doing this is to practice the usage of “as-as-” “not as(so)as-”( 目的就是为了复习同级比较的用法 )Step2: Read and answer(Activity 2) 1.Read the text , understand the meaning of it. If they can answer the questions, write the main words down.2. Read it again, ask and answer in pairs.3. Check the answers.( 目的是为了训练学生的听力,学习熟悉词汇,为学习对话做准备 )Step3: Reading (Activity 3). 1Read and answer, and then tell the teacher, “What are Betty and her mother talking about?”(They are talking about life in the past and now.)2. Read again, and think about another question, “How many things have they compared?” (Four-health, medicine, transport, work.)3. Read the questions in Activity 4,and try the best to find out answers to them. Step4:Explaining 1. Get the students to find out the points and talk about them with each other.Then the teacher explain the following:表语从句、形容词和副词的比较等级2. Get the students to make up a few sentences like this, “ The people are healthier than before.”3. Complete the table and write notes in Activity Step5:complete the sentences in your own words in Activity 6. Let the students do it quickly.Step 6:Language points1. Nearly finished! 这里finished 是形容词,表示“完成了的,结束了的”。如: I hope Ill be finished before 5 pm.我希望下午五点之前能完成。 Are you finished with that work? 你完成那份工作了吗?2. theres less fear of getting ill fear n. 担心;害怕They forgot all the fears at once. 他们一下子忘记了所有的恐惧。He was unable to speak at the meeting for fear.因为害怕他没能在会上发言。3. dont take as much exercise as they used to.as as表示“象一样”,否定句中常用not so as 替代not as as,表示“没有那样”。as as, not so as中间用形容词、副词的原级。如: Tom is as tall as Jack. Lily sings as well as Lily. She is not so clever as her brother. He cant read so fast as I.4. supposesuppose在这里是一个动词, 意为“猜想, 认为”, 后面可以接that引导的宾语从句, 此时注意对宾语从句的否定要移到主句上来。如: I dont suppose that he is at home. 我认为他没在家Step7 :Pronunciation and speaking Listen and notice the stressed words in Activity 7, and then repeat them.Read and underline the words which you think the speaker will stress.(Activity8)Then listen to the tape and read after it. Some people think life in the past was simpler and healthier than today.七、教学后记本节课教学设计简由到繁,又易到难,层层深入,在语言技能方面,是先输入后输出,遵循了先听、读、后说、写的设计顺序,使教学阶梯式地层层递进。体现了任务的阶梯型原则。该活动使学生置身于自然、真实的语言环境中,进行大胆、合理的想象,创造性地使用课文中学到的有关语言知识和技能,这样,不仅巩固了所学内容,训练了语言组织能力,而且
