Teaching aids:CAI ,word cards, pictures, tape recorder Teaching stepsStep 1. Warming up 1. Greetings. Hello, boys and girls. Im very happy to stand here. Are you happy today? 2.Sing an English song. Everybody show me your hands, sing an English song. Follow me, OK?3.Free talk. T: Do you like animals? I like animals, too. For example, cat, dog and so on.(学动物叫) Step 2. Presentation and drill 1.Learn the new words according to the word cards: a rabbit ,a pet ,lovely, a cage, a basket, hold. 2. Show a picture of a rabbit and teach the words: a pet, a rabbit. Game-touch my card 3. Show a cage and teach the word: cage Game-magic fingers T: Where can you put a kitten or a puppy? You can put them in a cage. 4. Teach the word: hold Game-high or low voice5.Let the students to read these new words after the teacher. T: (show the pet toy) Look! I have lovely pets. Sometimes I hold them. Do you want to hold one? Encourage the students to make actions and speak the sentence: “I want to hold it”. 6. Do you want to have a pet? You can ask your mummy, “Can I have a pet?” (Write the sentence on the blackboard and teach the students) What pet do you want to have? You can ask: “Can I have a ” Encourage the students to express freely and practice the sentence. S1: Can I have a pet? S2: Can I have a rabbit? S3:Yes, you can./ No, you cant.Step 3 Practices.1、Write Can I have a puppy? / Yes, you can. / No, you cant. / You can do sth but you cant do sth. Ss read the sentence after me . Then have them practice in pairs.2、Play a guessing game to practice the sentences.Step 4. Consolidations.1、Let the students listen to the tape three times.
