What is the difference between Parallel Writing and Reverse Translation? Illustrate them by examples. Parallel writing means comparing English and Chinese writing by using the same topic while reverse translation means translating a translated text back to its original. Parallel writing strategy is different from reverse translation strategy. In parallel writing, I have one topic with two bilingual texts. I compare the two to see the differences when English and Chinese handle the same topic. If I cannot find two bilingual texts on the same topic, I can write one of the texts. For example, I have a Chinese text on pollution. I write an English composition on pollution too. It is important that while writing, I should think in English, imagining how a native writer will approach the same topic. Alternatively, I choose an English text, and write a Chinese composition in parallel to the English one. In reverse translation, on the other hand, I have an English text with the Chinese translation done by a professional translator. I can do two things. Either I translate the Chinese translation back into English, or I produce another version of the Chinese translation of the same text. Both strategies can be used to improve my awareness of la
