Task-based teaching methodTeaching steps:Step 1: Greetings.Step2: Leading in: A song. Before listening to the song , I ask three questions: 1.What can we do? 2. What cant we do? 3. What do we have to do? (From the song, I will let the students have a general idea about what we will learn today.)Step3. Talk about the rules at our school: Show the pictures and present the dialogues. Ask the students to read the dialogues. (Here I will introduce the school rules at our school)Step4. Memory challenge: Ask the question: What are the five rules we talked about. Should we break or keep the rules? (Write down the sentence “We should keep the rules.” on the blackboard.)Step 5.Listening part: 1b Listen and write down what rules the children are breaking.Step 6. Talk about the other rules at school:1. What cant you do at our school?2. What do you have to do at our school?3. What can you do at our school?(encourage the students to say as many rules as they know, then I will show them the rules we have at our school)Step 7. Listening part : 2a/2b Listen and check the activities Alex and Cindy talk about. Listen and circle what Alex and Cindy can do or cant do.Step8. Talk about the rules at home. 1.Are there any family rules at home? 2.What can or cant do at home? 3.What do you have to do at home?( encourage the students to say as many family rules as they can, then I will show them the rules they may have.)Step 9. Discussion: Group work. Where would you like to stay? At home or at school? Then ask the students to make a report.The report should follow this:At school, I can.but I cant . I have to But I dont have to. At home, I can but I cant . I have to but I dont have to So I think I would like to stay at home /school.Step 10. Homework: 1. Write down your report on the notebook. 2.
